The Southern Cross shines
Waits, beckons, draws me back home
To The Great South Land.

Written for the Sky-ku challenge. The Southern Cross is my favourite constellation. It brightens my night sky, as it did with sailors of old, leading them here to Australia.

Such rich lines! Really created an atmosphere in a few words!

I used to be obsessed with constellations when I was a kid. Loved your poem!
I feel that connection so strongly in this.
This Haiku is really anchoring, Angie, I feel its sense of place without ever having experienced it. Really excellent entry to the challenge!
This is beautiful, Angie. Well done.
