Paradise on earth!

Such halcyon days…

growing up in ‘God’s own country’

amidst verdant, rolling hills

dotted with Dalmatian speckled cows.

*

Days when precious friendships were birthed.

A time brimming with happiness, vigor and zest…

a time to run free!

Picnics in paddocks

Toes gingerly treading stoney streams

Cheerfully chatting atop swings…

lolling languidly.

*

Dad’s maple tree…

fiery crimson and golden mosaic adorned boughs

outstretched…

searched in vain for a distant horizon

shrouded in mizzle’s silvery veil.

*

Each memory carefully tucked away

alongside my beloved shell collection

gathered on many a relaxing beach holiday.

***

Reminiscences of growing up on the Atherton Tablelands in FNQ, Australia.

Inspired by Poppy’s November Prompts.

Such a sweet trip down memory lane! Love how you paint those carefree days with the rolling hills, fun picnics, and your dad’s tree. Feels like the perfect blend of happy vibes and simple joys—makes me want to go kick back by a stream myself!
