Clean Energy

Tonya Lei’s “Who do you actually want to be”challenge:

The essence you can’t see

My energy is clean.

A pure bright light emanates from inside me.

It glows and warms those that allow it to permeate them from the inside.

It’s the warmth that I used to only feel from a strong drink.

But this warmth has no burn.

🔅

My spirit is intentional.

My weightless demeanor isn’t immaturity or foolish play.

It is the result of struggle and years of hard fought peace and complex refinement.

It exists in a chamber that has been rubbed to a fine polish.

Rejuvenating energy radiates from its center.

Look past its patina to absorb this self-sustaining energy.

Feel the tranquility that permeates the air after a battle.

It is a gift I wish to grant without its scars.

⚡️

The light inside me is eternal.

It is completely separate from the weathered years shown on the exterior of my vessel.

That is not to say it hasn’t learned lessons and grace through experience but it remains young and full of joy.

There is no reverence in it because adding unnecessary weight to anything makes it more of a burden to carry.

You will never deplete it for this is an energy that originates from a source that can’t be explored by flesh and blood.

I have rubbed away the tarnish of a life lived in corruption so that I can best mirror the everlasting glow that was placed within me.

🌟

Are there fellow illuminators whose warmth matches my own?

Come close if you cannot see my internal flame.

I will make certain you can feel it.

About the Creator

Jesse Lee

Poems and essays about faith, failure, love, and whatever’s still twitching after the dust settles. Dark humor, emotional shrapnel, occasional clarity, always painfully honest.
