social commentary
There's a rich history of poetry serving as social commentary, intended to inspire calls to action.
NO MORE FEAR
LOOKING ON MY TIME LINE.. KNOWING WHAT I FEEL IS REAL BUT EVERYONE SAYS “ITS OK” BUT I KNEW IT WASN’T. THIS IS NORMAL THEY SAY, DON’T HIDE YOUR FEELINGS THEY SAY.. BUT I KNEW A STORM WAS BREWING. SO IS IT STILL OK? SO TELL ME WHEN WILL BLACK LIVES FINALLY BE FREE FROM THE HATE? THE HATE WE CONSTANTLY SEE TURN IN TO MURDER. REGARDLESS OF IF WE CO-OPERATE OR NOT. WORDS CAN’T DESCRIBE THE PAIN AND FRUSTRATION I FEEL. SO I DON’T WANT TO TALK!!! I WANT TO TAKE ACTION!!!

Poor or Rich
Do you judge a poor man, with a roof over his head? The poor man which chooses to give to others, even though he has so little himself, that he is willing to sacrifice what he has to help someone. For what truly makes the poor man rich? For he is rich in knowledge, kindness and wisdom, surely these are the greatest things in this ever emotionless world.
