If I could give you a motivational speech, it would say this
Dear white men and women
I pray that you hear my voice
The voice of a broken heart, echoes of a torn spirit
Heartbroken soul
Theories that the world is slowly falling apart
We’re surviving the storm that nobody sees
The storm of racial inequality
Hurricanes of brutality and elimination
Thunderous rains of discrimination
The fact of the matter that I don’t know if anyone even cares about me
No one wants to defend me
My skin IS Black
Yes, it’s an undeniable fact
There’s nothing you can do about that.
If I could truly give you the words to say
Will it cause you to see things my way?
Will I live to see another day?
All because there are those of you who disagree with our melanin
All because we don’t look like you nor act like you
Do you see what I see?
No one wanting to let me be
All because our skin tones don’t match up evenly
Tired of the abuse and harassment
Done with the ridicule
There’s no need to look at us as the intimidation
We’re not giving up that easily
We’re not waving the white flag of defeat
Let me tell you about this thing called life
It’s as easy and/or hard as you allow
All about how you execute the very thing that sets you apart
You see, life is the form of existence that distinguish
Abilities to step out of statistic shadows
Removing the weight of not having the finesse
Escaping the desert of depression
Ready to receive the blessings from defeating the battle of oppression
If I could give you words of inspiration, I’d must inform you
Value life’s atmosphere, exploring sunrises and sunsets of happiness and peace
We are tired of going through racial injustice, having to go through false accusations and senseless abuse. We are tired of being the main race that deals with this. Done with law enforcement and foolish racist white people eliminating our people for no reason!
WE MATTER
OUR LIVES MATTER
OUR VOICES MATTER
EVERYTHING ABOUT US MATTERS
