broken and bruised
stolen and enslaved
slashed and mistreated
priced the priceless
cursed and wounded
bought and stolen
ripped of identity
clothed in shame
raped and abused
uncalled by our name
ostracized and ridiculed
copied and mocked
it's truly a shame
we go through
oh do we go through
but the last shall be the first
and we overcame then
we shall overcome now
time and time again
let freedom reign
from the bellies of our hearts
and depths of our souls
let freedom reign
oh let freedom reign
