Stray remnants of cosmic power Shining bright in darkest hour Ethereal tendrils of the stars Enchantments cast from afar

Alone I stood, a great host opposed Grey demons gaining ground My battle worn-armor dented and damaged Neither strength not courage left to be found
A spectral whisper in harmony with the wind Floating like foam in the rapids Driftwood, time worn and pressure smoothed
And so we enter the dark months. Where that which makes us see blurs our vision, The blood that keeps us warm chills our bones
By the clear ringing song of harp and horn There you stand, celestial-born And where I am a crownless king You drift aloft on angels wings
Hail to the grim, marauders and kings For power is in crowns, bangles and rings The warlike are dead, the peaceful don’t rest
My Dad I think of you every morning, and your name still warms the air, the way your presence once did, when life felt steady and kind.
