performance poetry
Performance Poetry is poetry out loud; poems brought from the page to the stage.
The magic of the natural world
The magic of the natural world, Where wonders and marvels unfurl, From the tiniest ant to the tallest tree, There is so much for us to see. The rushing streams that flow and swirl, The meadows bursting with blooms in a twirl, The mountains reaching for the sky, Their majesty never fails to satisfy. The chirping birds that sing so sweetly, The rustling leaves beneath our feet, The oceans teeming with life below, All part of this amazing show. Nature's magic is all around, In every sight and every sound, It fills our hearts with joy and awe, And helps us to appreciate it all. So let us take a moment to pause, And appreciate the magic that nature has endowed, For in this natural world, there is so much to explore, And its magic will always have us wanting more

Take a Leap
No help from the airline, on the plane I stand. Reading the safety instructions, I don’t understand, so I leap. Evening. Walking the streets of suburbia, I see houses with their lights on but I don’t want to enter. Walking by a group of tattooed men, staring at me. They nod, I say “hello” - they look surprised. One turns to say, “thank you.” I’ve made them happy. I’m not scared, but I don’t want to be there, so I leap.
