Sirius
For Ellie Hoovs' July Poetry Prompt Contest

Introduction
These are words aligning myself with the brightest star.
The song is the gorgeous "By The Lights Of Cyrian" by David McWilliams, with lyrics that would not shame Bob Dylan or Dylan Thomas, because of the homophonic nature of Sirius and Cyrian.
This is for Ellie Hoovs' July Poetry Prompt Contest, which you can find more about here:

The Brightest Star In Canis Major
The Day You Appear, Dog Days Are Close
Spirits Rise From Their Languid Stupor
Know I Am The Shining Sirius

Look To The Night Sky, See The Star Glow
Just Take Your Time, There Will Be No Rush
Watch It Rise In The Sky, Nice And Slow
The Dog Star Bright, That Is Sirius

These Are Summer Days, To Take One's Time
With Relaxation For All Of Us
These Days Of Lounging, And Days Of Wine
Glowing Brightly, I Am Sirius

I Am The Spirit Of Sirius

This was absolutely stunning. Loved your poem!
The dog days of summer. Ugh! Give me a good snow storm & a mug of hot chocolate, lol.
The last two stanzas are like wine. Intoxicating and addictive.
A great poem and Sirius would be my favorite star!
Those last lines! I love this - I love the lyricalness - I can feel the Dylan-esque quality of it "day of wine", "Look to the night sky", "watch it rise in the sky, nice and slow".
