silence, a sweet surrender

a poem

By angela hepworthPublished about a year ago 1 min read

sweet surrender in the sound of stillness

in all its inky, invigorating intrepidity

leaving long, lingering lapses of life

entombed within the epitomes of emptiness

numbing the null of nothingness

created by crises in cruel coping minds

edify us, silence; engrave everyone’s eager ends

Thank you guys so much for reading! ♥️

I love this alliterative acrostic! I find it almost impossible to resist alliteration 💖. I particularly liked: “ entombed within the epitomes of emptiness”

Silence can be sweet and it can be brutal. Still it is a lovely thing. Great poem.

In silence we will heal. Just beautiful, I love the picture chosen and the words do a lot to take the breath away. A perfect nighttime poem I would say.

Well-wrought! Almsot like a prayer. To Harpocrates, perhaps?

The last line pulled it all together. Great job! 👏
