Shy rabbit
Rabbit: Wonderland Poetry Prompt Challenge day 21
Reluctantly
sleep released her
from its clutchesâŠ
The cold, unyielding stair tread
cradled her numb cheek as
Something gently tickled her forehead.
PleaseâŠ
Just let me sleep!
Painfully, she pried open an eye
just in time to spy
a shy brown bundle of fur
startle and hop silently offâŠ
Come back little rabbit!
But, with a twitch of itâs tail
it was goneâŠ
wishing otherwise
was to no avail.
ButâŠ
the timid
rabbitâs haphazard trail
stirred a faint memory.
Resolutely,
she struggled uprightâŠ
sheâd go tonight!

Oh how sweet! I'd love to know - what did the trail reminder her of? Where is she going?
Loved this one, Angie. It had a really gentleness tone to it. Nice job.
Hope again! Love that the rabbit trail triggered a memory! Such good work, Angie!
