Sailing on moonbeams
Kayleigh Fraser's "One of Us" Unofficial Challenge
Inconceivable!
I’d be extremely surprised
If Tomorrow starts without me!
I’m up bustling about before the birds and sun rise
My puppy eagerly awaits his predawn snack
And a jaunty trot ’round his territory out back.
Oh… wait! I see!
Tomorrow starts a tick past each somnolent midnight hour…
Sometimes I snatch a fleeting glimpse of its stealthy arrival
But mostly, I’m snugly tucked up in my dream laden tower.
With sleep and slumber, I dare not trifle
Time spent with them keeps Tomorrow carefree
So, I won’t worry
If Tomorrow starts without me…
Time spent sailing on silvery moonbeams
Is worth greeting the day in a flurry…
Whenever, I greet Tomorrow is just fine by me!

I love this perspective, Angie! Great stuff here! I love your poem.
Well-wrought! I always leave the world of dreams with at least a little lament on my lips...
Oh, this is a great take on Kayleigh's challenge. Very unique and well done.

A much less depressing take than mine! I approve!
Oooo, I learned a new word from you today, somnolent! Loved your take on this challenge!
Loved this lighthearted and lyrical take! Great poem, Angie! Especially liked “ Tomorrow starts a tick past each somnolent midnight hour”
A charming read. I liked the tower and sleep part the best!! 😃 (I was going to quote it but it is four lines and you know what you wrote - hah!) I haven’t checked out this challenge as yet by Kayleigh, but I enjoyed your verses Angie! 😊
Like the buoyant tone of this, Angie.
I love the direction you went with this one! And the use of 'inconceivable'.
“Inconceivable” is the word of our non-existence. Great poem, Angie!
