Peace, Perfect Peace?
A Rick Henry Christopher Peace on Earth Challenge

What a glorious morning!
Magnificent magpie’s golden notes… onto dawn’s pristine canvas spill
whilst chattering, purple, Pale-headed Rosellas frolic.
A zephyr flaps my exhilarated Labrador, Hudson’s floppy ears
as he lollops down the hill…
darting excitedly to greet his girlfriend… a younger version of him.
Ah… Peace, Perfect Peace!
********************
Sunbeams softly kiss my cheek
alack and alas… her ‘heart throb’ is not everyone’s hero!
Dabbling Mallard Ducks serenely sail on by… down the creek.
An unsociable Golden Lab growls grumpily and rates him a ‘Zero’!
Boxer dog’s laser beam gaze locks on ‘Full Alert’, raring to pounce, give chase.
Oblivious, Huddy ambles along, curiously inspecting a spooked ginger Tom
Their Peace, Perfect Peace has gone!

Sorry but Huddy is too adorable!
I felt so calm at the end of the first stanza, and then the tension mounts again!
Oooo, do you know what is Hudson's girlfriend's name? Also, I've only ever heard of alas, not alack. Thank you for teaching me somethings new!
Omg the dogs are soo adorable it melts my heart🥹🥰 Lovely poem Angie!
