Loathe 'NICE'!!
But love... 'LOATHE'.
NICE is too blah.
A nice dress is bland
not sparkling like feldspar.
Nice folks will smile on demand…
never hold a contrary view...
Yes... nice is too much ‘sugar and spice’!
Loathe is an intense emotion, it's true!
I detest, abhor... hate any lies.
Close cousin, 'Hypocrisy' too!
Bullying, joins the grim club.
Though healthy... dark choc'late
causes me to blub!
It's wrong to hate…
but I loathe
pallid

Word, words, words... so many beautiful and hideous ones to choose from! But, where are they when you need them??
They are floating around in the fog in my brain.
These two random words came to mind. I love the sound and meaning of the word 'Loathe'... clearly I loathe, poor little 'Nice'!
I attempted to write this poem starting with one syllable on line one, increasing one syllable per line until ten and then decreasing back down to one.

Nice is such a.... place holder of a trait isn't it? It's a whole bunch of inoffensive Nothing where a personality ought to be 😁

Oh, this is too cool. I really like the structure you chose, and damn, the comparisons of "nice" to dull things, and the words you chose to illustrate your loath of them, like "pallid" and "feldspar" were fantastic! Great, great entry, Angie!!
