You laughed

and the sound

filled my s-o-u-l

You looked

at me, and

my breath c-a-u-g-h-t

You loved

and I felt

my chest w-a-r-m

You cried

and my hands

wiped your t-e-a-r-s

You walked

and I heard

my heart b-r-e-a-k

You moved

on and I

died a l-i-t-t-l-e

without you

Oh, my heart - this is piercing. The absence of love highlights the fullness it brings when present. Congratulations, Invisi! This is a beautiful and poignant poem on love.

Oh my, that last line. Beautiful writing. Well done.

  • Which is why the little boy in "Love Actually", after telling his stepfather that he's in love & being told that's great, responds, "Why would you say that? It's awful!" That's pretty much been my experience, too.

Oof, that one hits deep. The spacing makes each moment linger, like echoes of love and loss. Simple, but powerful. Feels like a whole relationship in just a handful of lines.
