Every Breaking Wave: A Tragedy

Greek Monologue based on Hero and Leander

By Devin JamesPublished 6 years ago 1 min read
Waves of Elysium

Love is always blind.

It blinds even the clearest eye.

I know that now.

I still remember those nights where I'd guide

you to my tower.

Our love was forbidden, but that's what made us

come together even more.

But Fate herself denied us our everlasting love

oh how I miss you so, Leander.

If only we would've been more free to love

If only that cursed storm didn't wipe out all

the light.

oh how I miss you so, Leander.

And I pray to the gods we shall meet again

in the fields of Elysium.

These waters feel so soothing as I submerge

I'm coming home, my love.

Guide me to Elysium.
