Chasing falling stars and endless freedom

A song about what never was.

A Fallen Star by Devin McBride

You , you pushed me out of my life

I was fine, before I

I went flying

I went flying

Yea, I went flying

Towards your alignment of stars,

In which you made me believe our love was written.

But boy can’t you see?

We were never meant to be

It was never my problem, you never were mine, you belonged to everyone else.

And those stars, I

I wished upon every night

But those stars fell,

Fell in vain.

Every night, my eyes look up to the skies

Chasing the stars,

Desperately seeking what I saw behind those eyes.

When I close my eyes all I see is you and I

But I,

I know that these memories will burn away like a damaged film.

Because isn’t that what these memories truly are?

But like any film, not everything comes to an end.

And like a rising star in a sky so dark and endless

I will rise above this tragic ending.

But you will not be around to see my ascension

For you fell from grace

The day you turned away

Bound to live in the lie you created.
