Did You Notice, I'm Still Here

And The Nonsense That Follows

What will it take,

what will capture your eye?

A story like Faulkner,

or Catcher in the Rye?

To be someone else,

if for only a day.

To experience how intense,

it feels to say.

Whatever you want to,

whatever you feel.

A fly on the window,

a bee on the sill.

A crashing crescendo,

a press for free will.

The very thing needed to,

express how you feel.

I touch the water,

where you were before.

A nobody's daughter,

begging for more.

Flowers held in crystal,

a pressed rose in a book.

A twenty-two pistol,

for her pocketbook.

Skin smoother than porcelain,

but thicker than blood.

Stronger than the force within,

though it is stuck in the mud.

A glance with affection,

a touch without pause.

A bite without barking,

from a cat without claws.

To make sense of the senseless,

one page at a time.

Will surely get your attention,

if I make the thing rhyme.

I like the rhyme and Ilike the picture , what I really liked was the contrast in the lines and words. Really nicely done 'A bite without barking, from a cat without claws.'

I love this! Reminds me of some people in my life I care about very much. Your rhyming was great, I feel like sometimes poems that actually rhyme bother me when it is forced but yours felt so natural
