PSA: Tupperware to Leftover Ratio

A PSA poem

Containers laid out in silent rows

You planned it to last a week

But as you measure, the soul knows

The answer is not what you seek.

The amount shrunk in the making

(Or from hungry little hands)

The certainty leaves your heart aching

But the facts as they are still stand

There is not enough to fill each container

No way to divide each one perfectly

Pack what you can and eat the remainder

It'll work out next time, you'll see...

Guess what I was doing over the weekend?

No matter what, I wind up having too much of one thing, or not enough of another, and the ratio of meat and two veg for work lunches will be off in some way that most people won't notice (especially since most of my co-workers just take a stroll to the nearest food court) but will bug me for the next week.
