Chess
I must confess
strangely fascinates me.
We first met when a carved set
Farewelled Sweden and travelled afar.
It arrived Down Under, early one Christmas
To this very day, it resides with me, don’t you fret…
I kindly showed my newly wed husband just how to play.
Without any apparent effort, he soundly defeated, me much to my dismay!
To this very day
I still adore Chess
But honestly must stress
I seldom win a game
All the same…
I wonder
Was he a quick learner
Or was I a brilliant teacher?

I vote you were a brilliant teacher
Clearly you were a good teacher! I've wanted to learn but my visual spatial intelligence is so low I think I'd be quite terrible
Oh the last lines! I love this - it's so sweet! I love the lines about the board traveling as well.
Hard-hitting and powerfully confident lines!
amazing writing
