Hair… so fair
Eyes sparkling like blue ice chips
Bristling with energy, enthusiasm, excitement
He seems to fly
Then dives…
For that coveted ball
Oh no!
An opponent palms
Him ruthlessly aside
He falls…
Folding like carelessly crumpled origami
Sugar coated consolation
Plenty of time to mend
Before next year’s
Season.

Ouch! A season lost. ☹️
Love the tone of this and the imagery. Great work!
Love how you captured a physical moment and the emotions and described the crumpling fall of origami!
Seamless use of prompts here, well done
Clever use of the prompts, Angie! The poem evokes both physical and psychic pain with a smidgen of resolve and hope in the final lines!
Love that you used the prompt words in a rugby inspired piece! Si creatively and effectively done! Seemed effortless too!
This all fits together so smoothly.
OOooo! This was a great take on the prompts Angie!! Nicely done!!
Rugby? Or AFL? I think this is a refreshing use of the prompts. It never fails to surprise me where Poppy's word choices take people!
Oooo, I loveeeeee the direction you went with using these orompts! So well done!
