cat
It's been said that people that hate cats will come back as mice in their next life.
Zoey the Globetrotting Cat
One night in Beijing, about three or four years ago, a Chinese man bought a kitten for his foreign girlfriend. The kitten was a small thing, with tiny flat ears and striped fur. Little flecks of orange dotted her coat. Her large eyes took up most of her face.

People often don't think of what it means to have a small soul lock onto yours. The immediate connection you get when you first lay eyes on each other, and the trust that builds from the initial, "Hi, how are you? My name is..." But that connection is only built with humans. The connections that go far and beyond are the connections you make with souls that can't even speak to you.

January Again
I’ve written about my kitty before. I wrote about how January came into my life before, but she was just a little kitten then. She could crawl into my diet soda boxes and peer out at the world like a queen in her palace. She’s way more of a queen now than she ever was, even if she prefers to lay on my laundry basket, which is right by my desk.

Cats Are Jerks
I am, what my friends consider, a "cat lady" as I have 4 cats and want about 4 more. I have always loved cats; they have such different personalities but know how to help when you are sad. My 4 cats are all very different in personalities, breeds and colors. Tompkins, my oldest boy at 7 years old, I have had for over a year and adopted him from a local shelter. He is an orange and white handsome guy with yellow/green eyes and is very independent, but will come around for pets at least once a day. Missy, my 2 and a half year old baby was also adopted from a local shelter. She is a tortoise shell, multi-colored beauty. If it were up to her, she would never stop being pet and she will put her face in yours and nudge your hand when she wants your attention. Tucker, my Siamese boy, is almost a year old. He is my snuggle bug, always flopping himself into my arms like a baby for love and attention. He is also my biggest cat, even weighing more than my 7 year old and even longer and taller than him too. Tucker is by far my biggest jerk. Then, last but not least, is Bagheera. He is also almost a year old, only 2 weeks younger than Tucker. Bagheera is a Tuxedo, and he is a momma's boy for sure, only letting me hold or pet him.

A Ginger Biography
King of the Household Ginger will be celebrating his tenth birthday in human years next month. We’ve had him since he was born and even though our family don’t live together anymore, he is still very much loved. He has been a part of the family since the day he was born and turned my mum from a cat hater to a cat lady. He goes by many nicknames. My mum even calls him her “sexy boy” which makes me stepdad and aunts cringe like there’s no tomorrow. Other nicknames include Ginge, or Ginge-Minge which he responds to well.

Six Dinner Sid
My best friend Charlotte lives about 120 miles away from me, which means that throughout the pandemic I haven’t been able to see her. Not being able to catch up so easily has been sad, for sure, but we’ve managed to stay in-the-loop on the big stories in each other’s lives as much as possible.

The Fight For Binky
This is Binky, also know as Bink, BinkBonk, Mr. Bonkerman, and Binkity Bonk. He's a nine year old American Ringtail who looks black, but a good ray of sun reveals brown tabby stripes. He's a menace with zero teeth, but claws that he uses to walk up furniture and your leg since jumping is just too hard a concept to grasp it seems. All he wants are kisses and to burrow under blankets with you. And this is the story of how we came to have this angel.

Princess Leia
My wife and I adopted our little kitten at only six months old, from the charity Cats Protection. We recently moved into our first place and felt that it was a little quiet, we loved it, but wanted to share it with someone, so off to the sanctuary, we went!
