They come in all shapes and sizes and come with a wide variety of causes. House breaking, litter box issues, aggression and general destruction of furniture are all common cat behavior problems. Unfortunately, they all are common cat behavior problem for some cats.

Sometimes though, there are specific kitty vocalizations that we simply cannot handle. Cats that start making these high-pitched vocalizations at different times when they should be content are often just a little too adorable. Many cat owners find that they simply cannot get their house cats to calm down because of their feline friend's vocalization. In order to control this, many people turn to various types of training. Here are some vocalization examples:

Kittens often start their vocalizations when they are only two days old. This is called baby vocalization. Some kittens will continue to make these high pitch sounds through their entire lives. While it is not advisable to provide kitten vocalization as a form of punishment, most kittens and adult cats will calm down once they get to a certain age.

While not considered cat behavior, cats can also be vocalizing for a number of reasons. Many times their voices will grow louder when they are hungry, nervous or just plain tired. The main thing to remember here is that when your cat starts making sounds, chances are he/she is either trying to communicate something or is tired. If you happen to hear these types of sounds for any reason, you may want to bring them to the veterinarian to have them checked out.

Most feline owners simply do not understand the basic cat behavior tips. These tips can usually help provide a better quality of life for both cats and their humans. Sometimes simple tips can eliminate entire cat litters. I know this from personal experience. I have had cats that fought all the way until I realized that by providing them with more room, more toys and maybe a new cat toy, that the fights were quickly fading away.

I have heard stories about other cat owners who use physical punishment as a form of cat behavior modification. I would not recommend this at all. I think most people understand the basics of cat behavior and using physical punishment is not necessary. Remember, cats are wild animals. While there are times that you will need to take aggressive action towards your cats (like if they are jumping on you), most of the time they will do things without thinking. So take care of your pets and remember, there is no reason why cats hissing all the time.
