I Surrender All
My friend is Crow. She invited me to help a Native family round up their cattle from the Little Big Horn on the Crow Reservation. On our trip out to Montana we noticed an unusual number of bears. When we arrived at our base camp, we were startled to find a cow with her head knocked half off by the single swat of a very large bear. It was rumored that some bears from Yellowstone had been released into the Little Big Horn.

What It's Like Owning a Pet Snake
"You have a snake?" my friend asked as she gasped and gave me a look of pure horror. Unfortunately, this was not the first time I had gotten this reaction from someone when they find out what I keep in my room as a pet. In fact, before I get my snake my dad told me that I shouldn't post anything about my snake on social media because "people wouldn't understand and they would think I'm weird." Harsh, right? I certainly thought so.

The View from the Dog House (Pt. 14)
Some people say "Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits" on the first day of the month for good luck. Others say "White rabbits, brown foxes," whilst there are some who say "Pinch, punch first of the month." It will come as no surprise we are sure, when we tell you that at Teale Towers we say all three. However, it has to be the first thing a chap says after midnight and unfortunately, we missed it this time around. Well these things happen when a chap gets preoccupied.

Reactivity & Prong Collar Training
Reactivity and Redirecting Training with a Prong Collar Before introducing the prong, you’ll need to work on him being able to stay still long enough for you to secure, change tightness, and get the prong collar on him. I recommend using a loop lead for this portion, or placing the leash clip through the handle, and using that as a loop lead.

The Rottweiler with Strength
It's so cold. So lonely. The hunger is eating me away. I am just wasting away. I miss my old pack they were there for me they cared for me I meant something there. My mummy was the leader she was beautiful a picture of pure intelligence and love she was warm and cosy caring too. I miss her. My brothers were boisterous and almost seemed as though they were brainless, but even though they showed thick skulls and thick skin to passers-by they were always soft and warm caring and ready to listen. My sisters were strong and powerful but beautiful to they loved to be the centre of attention, they would always sit in regal positions with heads held high to show their proudness of who they were. They were fun we played all the time together we all wanted to grow up and be strong and proud like our mum. I always thought I would see her again or them but one by one we all went to new homes and had new packs to take care of. I hope they are where they are loved. That was once me, I was once loved.

The View from the Dog House (Pt. 13)
I, Scamp, the Pawsome one am mightily offended. I am told that I am going grey around the gills. I thought it was only fish who had gills? Going grey is for old people and I am only seven. O.K. - and a half but that is nothing! Even she who thinks she should be obeyed at all times isn't grey and she is ancient. But apparently my brown patches on my face are nearly white. They used to match the patch around my tail piece which is still vibrant thankfully, but what has happened to my face patches I can't imagine; maybe they just faded in all that sunshine.

Bear Conservation and Eco-Tourism in Japan
I started my new job at a Wildlife Research Centre in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. This organisation is unique in that it works in both conservation and eco-tourism, the tours providing funding for the conservation side (along with few local grants). Nowhere else in the world is this being done, at least not to the same extent as here.

Our Lost Dog
Recently we had to put our beloved dog down. He was thirteen. For me to call him a ‘dog’ in a sentence is hard because he has always been known as our baby. Every dog owner knows that their special pooch is special because that is what we do. Our Otis was extremely special. I often joked that he was more human than dog, and I firmly believe that he thought he was.

Getting a Puppy
I have been wanting a puppy for the longest time now. I already have a dog. He's an off-white Maltese named Fudge. We got him from my mom's friend and apparently he had been browner in color when he was a puppy, so they named him Fudge, but as he grew older he started turning white. He grew up around all his siblings and his mom and another dog that the family has, but he has been living alone for two years now since we didn’t have any other dogs, so now he gets jealous if there are other dogs, especially boy dogs since he is not fixed. He’s not very playful and likes to just lay around. He’s also a small dog, I like bigger dogs, but I love Fudge and would never get rid of him. But getting another dog is a huge change for him.
