Writers and Creators can “Cross the boundary of Eternity”

As a writer when do you see eternity? In my opinion, every writer sees eternity in his or her creation. As the story unfolds, with its limitless possibilities, we see eternity. There are so many routes that a particular idea could go in the story. Every plot and subplot for a character opens up more and more seemingly endless possibilities.

Imagine that a character in your story either the Hero or the antagonist is standing at the crossroad. He or she can either choose to go to the left, the right, the north, the south, the east or the west. Each pathway chosen by the writer will take his or her character along very different adventures. All the roads could lead to one destination or they could lead to different destinations. Whatever the final destination of the character could be, he or she will undergo a great transformation, as a result of this journey.

An artist could say that it is in the creation of a piece of art that he or she sees eternity. It may be in the artistic concept, as they breathe life into the artwork, one sketched line at a time, to one color and one more brush stroke on the paper or canvas. Every line, every color, and every brushstroke is one more step in the evolution of the artwork.

The work of an artist has its own distinct signature. We can see the imagination and the creativity of the mind of the artist at work, as he or she creates a piece. When we view the work of an artist, we are catching a glimpse of eternity, as visualized in his or her creative artistic mind.

A songwriter creates a song, that in some way has travelled from the depths of his or her creative mind. He or she has given form and structure as a musical rendition for us to enjoy and appreciate. That particular song, tune or musical composition has come from the heart, soul and creative genius of the artist. That melody, even if it is just a tiny note, from the music of the spheres, that the singer, songwriter or musician has been able to touch with his or her creative mind, is for us to enjoy and celebrate.

Creative individuals always have to make a number of choices, when they take on an idea. This very idea of “Crossing the Threshold of Eternity”, that I received from my muse could have been an artwork, a story, a poem, or a blog post. I decided that I would write a post on the subject so that other writers and creators could tap into the source of creative possibilities.

In order to fully understand and appreciate the value of every idea, we need to always explore the limitless ways in which we can craft and eventually create that simple idea. As we develop any creative work, we are slowly and gradually crossing the threshold of eternity. This is only possible when the creator of any work enjoys the freedom of his or her imagination and creativity. All artists need to accept the fact that our ideas are really not our own, but sent to us by a universal creative cosmic force.

Michelangelo, the great sculptor, painter, architect and painter of the High Renaissance in Florence and who changed the world of art had two famous quotes.

“Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.”

“I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.”

This was Michelangelo’s way of “Crossing the Threshold of Eternity”. He had the vision, the imagination and the creativity, to “see”, that there was a figure in the marble. This was Michelangelo’s artistic method for giving a concrete reality to his creative vision of a beautiful sculptor. This great artist and sculptor, was in touch with his higher consciousness, which tapped into the vastness of eternity.

Every writer, artist and creator can “Cross the Threshold of Eternity”, by surrendering their logical minds and opening up their creative, imaginative and limitless minds to an infinite array of possibilities in the creative process. It is only then that a writer and any imaginative individual can create his or her best work, for the world to cherish, enjoy and for the artist to win fame and fortune.
