The Type Of Day Most People Miss
Why It Becomes Problematic

We live in a world that loves productivity...
Hustle culture...
Get it done...
Can't stop won't stop...
You get the point.
People have a goal to get as much done as possible...
In as little time as possible...
At just about any cost.
However...
Most people completely miss how to do this successfully, as humans.
To understand how to truly be most productive as humans...
We need to understand some important aspects of psychophysiology.
First, we need to understand where most people are going wrong.
Burnout.
In Burnout, our productivity potential drops to 5% or less...
And yes...
We can drop into negative productivity.
This is where over 80% of the workforce currently is.
How do we get here?
By never stopping.
To understand this better, we need to move into flow states.
Flow states are where we can access 100% of our productivity potential.
But to do so...
We need to go through the flow cycle.
It is a four-part process.
Struggle.
Release.
Flow.
Recovery.
You "must" go through these four steps.
And...
We can now see where in these four steps that most people get wrong.
Burnout happens because we never stop...
And recover.
Without recovery...
We end up blocking ourselves from accessing flow states.
The longer we go without getting proper recovery...
The further we move toward and into burnout...
And the worse our productivity becomes.
This is how the cycle works.
This brings us to the type of day that most people miss...
Recovery days.
How often do you take days to deeply recover?
Where you get more than enough rest throughout the day?
Where you only do things that make you feel fulfilled...
That are freeing to you and your wellbeing?
This is the type of day that I have taken today.
I spent the day with my wonderful spouse.
We spent time watching movies and playing board games today.
All very relaxing and freeing.
But when was the last time you actually stopped?
Took some time for yourself?
Just allow yourself to really feel at ease?
Even if it was not for an entire day?
Just a few hours?
There are many people...
Who probably do not remember the last time they allowed themselves that form of freedom.
They keep on pushing and pushing...
Driving themselves further and further...
Into the ground...
Into an early grave...
Sometimes literally.
There are reported cases of people who have died from overwork and burnout...
Even as young as 26.
This is the fate of those who miss recovery days.
Without proper recovery...
For our physical health...
For our emotional health...
For our mental health...
As well as for our spiritual health...
We begin to break down internally...
Which then spreads externally.
What makes this more challenging for people...
Is that this process is not immediate.
What happens for most people...
Is that at the beginning...
We "feel" like we are being more productive by foregoing proper recovery days...
And in the very short term, we might be able to be a tiny bit more productive...
But each time we miss recovering properly...
It becomes worse and worse.
And our perception becomes so skewed from breakdown...
That we fail to realize how far we are falling.
Until...
One day...
We actually stop and wonder...
How dazed we have become...
And wonder how we became so lost in the process.
Do not allow yourself to succumb to this fate.
Take time for yourself...
Have that recovery day...
You will be better for it.
