Sometimes we loose ourself in our daily life. With work, responsibilities, procrastination, social media, family and friends. That we forget and fall behind on what is important for ourself. To keep up and maintain our personal growth and well being. Improving and maintaining our physical and mental health, avoiding stress, personal time and growth are all important. There are some basic ways to start improving your life.
Drinking Water
If you don't drink water or not enough water already start drinking water. Drinking water is very important to keep yourself hydrated. To clean our insides from waste and harmful substances. It also helps with our digestive, our brain performance such as our memory, mood, concentration and reaction timing. If used in the correct way water can help manage weight loss and drinking water could help lower headaches. Check for yourself but depending on where you life it is not recommended to drink tap water, try to find good quality bottled (spring or mineral) water to drink.
Eating Healthy
Beside drinking water. Is eating healthy also important. All the junk, processed, high in sugar and salt and saturated fats in our food all have a negative impact on our body and mind. Changing our bad eating habits to a more consistend healthier diet will have a positive impact in our well being and avoiding or regulating diseases and health problems.
Exercise
We need to keep our body active to keep our blood flowing, heart pumping, condition up, muscle strengthened, to maintain body shape and health. We need to do atleast a form of physical activity, for example running, weightlifting, walking, hiking, swimming, calisthenic, sport, jumping rope or dancing. You can exercise at the gym, outside, in your home, yard, garage, swimming pool and or beach. It doesn't matter if it is not intensive or challenging your limit, it is important to have a consistent routine going and to maintain it.
Clean and Organise
Beside your health and well being. Keeping places we live in, work at, drive in or frequently visit cleaned and organized, is important to keep our mind that will unconsciously be affected from messed up or unorganized enviroments less overwhelmed. Building a routine and discipline around cleaning and organizing your spaces will have a positive effect on your mood and sense of control. You will develop a mindset of maintaining a certain standard in your life.
Planning
Plan your days, tasks, noting important upcoming events to keep you on track and aware of what you need to do. By noting your plans in an agenda or notebook, makes it easier for yourself to clarify how to plan your week or month. It helps you with keeping track of plans, tasks or events that are coming up and plans or tasks you didn't do. By following what you noted to do, you avoid dissapointing yourself and getting your plans done. And become a more organised and productive person.
Sleeping Routine
Something that we could over look but will make a big difference is building a good sleeping routine. A bad sleeping routine will have you tired during the day, limiting your mental abilities and awareness, affecting your physical health, performance and your mood. By building a good sleeping routine you make sure that you are at your best each day.
Time For Yourself
The worst thing is to not take time for yourself. We can get lost in our work, taking care of other people, stressing and worrying about our circumstances that we forget that we also need time for ourself. Some time to relax our mind and body, to recover and reset and to enjoy your life. For some taking time for ourself could be a difficult thing to do because the responsibilities you have, the money you need to make it each day, the little time you have after everything you needed to do that day or feeling too tired after the end of the day. But it could be as simple as just spending time in nature, just being outside, meditating, yoga, journaling, reading a book, working on a hobby, learning or practising for example an instrument or skill. And for those who are able, go on vacation, take a day (off) to treat yourself or challenge yourself to do something new like joining a workshop, canoeing, surfen, skiing, golfing, visiting a place nearby you haven't been before, going to a spa, going for a massage, and or anything new you haven't experienced.
