There Must Be A Better Way
For "Promises for Tomorrow" ViM's March Prompt

Introduction
This is for the prompt below, which you are free to join in with.
The music is "Things Can Only Get Better" by D:Ream featuring Professor Brian Cox on Keyboards
There Must Be A Better Way
That is my motto, my modus operandi. I always look for better ways of doing things or just making things better for me and for others.
While I do a lot at work, continually finding better and quicker ways of doing things, and that applies to my home life as well.
I think part of this is my inherent laziness and selfishness. I want the best of all possible worlds for me, so that I have more time to do what I want.
If I show others how to make their lives better, then a lot may share their ideas with me in return if they see I have benefitted them.
Sometimes that doesn't work out because people are naturally resistant to change, even if it makes their lives better.
I think that a few people are aware of what I do on Vocal. I was thinking yesterday, I have probably shared more people's Vocal work than any other Vocal Creator and my intention is to keep on doing that because I hope that others will reciprocate. Friends who regularly share my Vocal work are Mother Combs, Mariann Carroll and Angie Livingstone.
In the Vocal Social Society, I share at least ten stories each week one the Community Adventure and Dynamic Duo threads:
In Vocal's "Raise Your Voice" I share five stories and usually one or two are picked up as Top Stories:
I also sometimes share other creators' stories on Discord, although I don't go there often.
While I love creating, I also probably love sharing just as much, and that includes everything in my life, and I will keep doing that going forward. This week a Vocal Creator has asked me for help on a project which I am looking forward to.
So essentially, my promises for tomorrow are to make myself a better writer, but still take risks and be happy to fail. This supposed Einstein meme is something that I find true in the things we do.

This meme is an example of an excellent Vocal Editor improvement that I don't think they told us about. The fact you can directly paste an image into your Vocal story. I mention and describe it in this story.
I was once applying for a promotion but failed to get the job. I was told that the person who got it "had never made a mistake". The fact they have never delivered and were very cosy with top management didn't come into it, I am sure. I still kept on doing my thing and made sure that what had to be done was done.
On Vocal I am often criticised for daring to point out flaws in the system (and suggest solutions) but I want things to work and be the best for everyone, so I promise I will still take Vocal to task when they need to be told, but also to congratulate them when they get things right.
Conclusion
My promises for tomorrow and to become better in myself, not hold grudges (not not to take any rubbish from people), to be there for those who need me, to continue creating on Vocal, to publish a few more anthologies (The Glittering Fox will be interesting pairing Angie's art with my words).
I will also never give up or stop moving forward. It saddens me when we lose Vocal Creators, but that is the nature of life. Just because I can do things doesn't mean that others can.
I will always look for a better way even if there isn't one around.
Thank you so much for reading you know I appreciate it.

Thank you Mike for all your help and sharing on Vocal! I try to get to most stories but am finding it hard these days to keep up. Congrats on the 3rd place, well done!! I always appreciate your helpful articles and insights.
Ahhhh Mike!!! This was so great! You are a wonderful example of being a good Stewart on this site. I'm still learning but having great examples like you and Mother really help. Thank you for all that you do!
You are an inspiration to us all, Mike. I wrote a story last week in which I made the commitment to follow in your footsteps and write at least, one story for each of the Vocal communities.
I used to share other people's work when VSS still had the Who's Link Is It Anyway thread. That dropped and I didn't kmow where else to share them. Then Vocal had notifications and I stopped being active in all of the Vocal groups that I'm in. It's just too much for me to be able to juggle everything
Good job of writing here for you like sharing others' works while I like commenting on their work. You are a great helper to all of us here.
I thought this was a really great piece - I think it's awesome to share other people's work and let them know you like it. Also don't believe that the person who got the job had never made a mistake!?!? Wow. We would still be sat here this time tomorrow if we started listing all of mine! Well done Mike.
I wonder if there is a better way you could have written this. Probably, but none come to mind. Well said & ventured, Mike.
