Every Day Is New

Introduction

This will probably not be a perfect challenge entry. Still, it is really a continuation of what I do every year and an extension of my permanent New Year Resolution which is to do my best for me and others to be happy.

For some the plan for 2025 will be just to survive, I was just thinking of the number of friends I have who have physical and mental issues that they have to deal with, that is before any plans they may have before the year starts.

I am lucky, that my physical problems and easy for me to deal with, but I am in a position where I can do many things that I want so I will use this to lay down a number of things that I might try to do in 2025.

The music I have chosen for this piece is "Another Day" by Paul McCartney because every day could be another adventure or another success for us all.

Possible Probabilities and Probable Possibilities For Me In 2025

I always have ideas, and Vocal is almost a platform where I can store raw materials for anthologies that I self-publish. I came up with the idea of Thoughtpieces and gathered my stories together to create a short anthology (it is a free Kindle download until the 5th of January and you can get it here:

That was a last-year thing, but what it taught me is that I can easily publish other story series that I have created on Vocal, and there are three or four of those waiting to be committed to paper or ebookery.

Every day is a new day for me and every day throws up new ideas and opportunities.

This year I hope to get over to the North American landmass once more and see places I haven't been before, although I still hate airport check-ins, and I doubt that will change.

I keep on playing my guitar and keyboard and I have a four-track recorder on my Kindle so I need to discipline myself to use that and create something that I can share with the world.

I have also started doing reels on Instagram. I thought they were limited to thirty seconds but then found out I could do longer so I think there will be a few more of them to come from me, but here is my last one.

I intend to stay on Vocal and maybe pass three thousand stories but I am past counting, though the sheer volume of my stories does provide a steady few cents of coffee money each day, I am grateful that Vocal pays for reads by non-Vocal members.

A lot of Vocal's recent Challenges have specified more than the usual required word count, the recent playlist one required seven hundred and fifty words and this one requires a thousand words.

This one is also offering a bonus prize if the Creator is expanding their content on Vocal or creates something tied to Vocal.

I have written in every community and have written so many resources that have been ignored by Vocal, but would actually fulfill that criteria. Check this out although it won't count because it has already been created and published.

I will create more of these going forward, spotting areas that could be improved and suggesting how they could be improved.

One other thing is that I will continue to keep myself fit for my loved ones, family and friends. Three years ago I was hit with liver cancer but due to my walking regime, they said they could throw anything at me and I would probably be alright. I know that I have to keep walking, eat sensibly, and look after myself.

I suppose really my big project for 2025 is to keep being the best version of me I can possibly be. To keep teaching myself new things and sharing my knowledge with others.

I will also be there for others who need help in any way, and help them build their dreams as well.

Last year due to an issue at work I ended up with a lot of extra holiday, and part of that I have used to go back to Preston, where I come from and meet with an ever-growing number of old friends. It is too easy to say "We'll do it next week" because next week turns into next month turns into next year turns into never. This was where I captured this on Vocal, though I think we are going to need a bigger table soon:

Life is a major project for all of us. Sometimes it hits us in the face and other times it delivers us incredible treasures. If we keep going we can usually find those treasures, I certainly have, some I share with you others I keep to myself.

I would love to get some real book sales, and put out a real music album, I know I have the ability to do that, but I will have to put in work to get that moving.

Maybe I could try and adapt some of my work for a television script. I am friends with the writer Paul Campbell so I may tap him up if I start to feel I want to drift in that direction.

Conclusion

I have stated that this would be messy and the reality is, that my project for 2025 is my life and all the things that can make that better including sharing it with others.

This very story is part of that and is a statement that I don't really know what I am specifically doing, but I want to be able to do what I want, and I want everything I do to be very good.
