The Wealthiest Place on Earth

Will your gifts take you there?

By Bosslady Key 🔑Published 6 years ago • 2 min read

Today I stopped by a local grocery store to grab some fresh fruits as a usually do after my morning walk and once again I was reminded about the power of fear. To my surprise, the grocery store was packed and looked as if there was storage on groceries.

I guess I must have had a surprised look on my face because one of the associates looked at me and asked, "What's the matter?"

To which I responded, "Why is the store so packed?" There's usually very few people in the store this time of day.

The associate then responded, "Everyone is getting ready for the hurricane."

That's when it hit me, the amazement of how fear will drive people to do things they will otherwise make an excuse not to do. Out of fear people will wake up earlier than they usually do, to find money they otherwise would say they don't have, and wait in line to buy things they may or may not need.

But on a normal day, the majority of these same people will have an excuse about why they can't wake up early and why they don't have or can't find money to invest in themselves.

I wonder what would happen if more people were this fearful about waking up 10 years from now and their lives were in the exact same place. They were living in the same neighborhood, hanging out with the same friends, working the same job, earning the same amount of money, making the same excuses?

Many people in life are what I call twirlers because they are busy being twirled by the wind of life. She is a silent teacher, but the cruelest of all. While many have experienced her harsh punishment she offers for not fulfilling their purpose they would rather die with their gift than face the fear of failure. According to Dr. Myles Munroe, this is why the graveyard is the wealthiest place in the world because in it lies songs that were never sung, books were not written, businesses that could have made a difference in the world. But too many would rather die than face the fear of failure.

My question to you is what is driving your motivation because you have a choice to make today, will you take action or make an excuse?
