The Little Black Book
The Little Black Book It was a late summer evening out a couple of weeks before fall. The sun had begun to set over the city. The sky was a bright magenta hue that spread across Albuquerque. The civic plaza downtown was a buzz with life. People had gathered around to listen to a local mariachi band playing traditional Mexican music which they danced to. They mingled about the dozen or so food trucks teasing their taste buds with great food that they chased down with whatever drink they could find. A young woman on her way to work mulled about the plaza in a daze to the music, dancing, and all-around cheerfulness under the magnificent sunset. For the moment, her mind was on her problems. "How am I going to pay for my last year of college," she thought to herself? She went by the name of Italia Germain. She was early to work so she decided to hangout in the nearby alley. Italia stumbled over something while walking down the alley. As she caught herself, she spotted a dingy backpack.

How Time Logging Can Transform Your Productivity
I know a thing or two about time management. At Sophie Davis, the BS/MD program I attend, students are regularly instructed on the importance of managing their time. Sharpening this skill has been excellent for my performance, but I value awareness of time as a way to maximize experiencing the things that bring us meaning and happiness on our journeys. I have developed many strategies while acquiring a bachelor's degree in 3 years, but the most important tool I've used for myself is time logging.

There's Hope in Jacob
The morning was on the horizon, and I knew today would be particularly tough. We were down three volunteers at the shelter, and tonight would be especially cold. Our average visits were up 200 percent over the last week, mainly because of an unusual cold snap. It was almost 7 am so I tapped on the girl's door so they could get up to prepare for a day of virtual classes. Emmy was 12, and Alex 16. Both of them great students; although Zoom was wearing thin on them, they were ready to get back to school, and so was I. Emmy poked her head out the bedroom and reminded me that she needed some colored pencils. I nodded and smiled to acknowledge her and quickly jotted it down in my Moleskine, which I keep in my breast pocket. My mind immediately switched to my drive into work as the girl's mom arrived home from her 3rd shift. The temperature flirted with 0 degrees Fahrenheit, so I was dressed relatively dense, pea coat, tweed hat, and boots.

Little Black Book
Little Black Book By Theresa Evans I was walking home from work one evening; I came across something that looked like someone had lost their wallet. It didn't take me long to realize later that it was a little black book. I seriously wanted to return this book back to the owner, but I had no successful luck for weeks.

The Coded Dream
A little black notebook, a code, and a dream. Amy was a young girl with aspirations and unwritten dreams. It wasn’t her time yet. She had to grow. The pages in her little black notebook were currently blank. She was so unsure of what should be written anyway. She desired so many things but it had to come to her naturally, it could not be forced. Lost within the status quo, she felt she did not fit in. People would often call her a dreamer. Over and over again she would hear that she needed to get out of her head and find the most logical and stable resources to live. She was hurt. She felt so lost and misunderstood as she stuck to the status quo for years to please everyone around her. There had to be more out there?

This-ability
I was earning a triple honors degree in criminology, law and psychology, while working part time driving a bus for a retirement home. It was a beautiful sunny summer day, and we had planned to take the retirement residents on a picnic to a park across town. I was asked to load the Coleman cooler filled with food, into the bus. I lifted the heavy cooler, and then turned toward the bus to load it. Suddenly, I felt a jolt of pain in my back and a sensation of my spine collapsing under the weight of the cooler. I knew I was in serious trouble. I headed inside to the nurses station and explained what happened. They gave me an ice pack. It was all they could do.

The no cost black book
She was in a rush when she ran down the street towards her destination. She had arranged with a stranger to purchase a used item and pick it up at a location between their respective homes. Unfamiliar with the area, she was running late for the pickup when she tripped over some unknown item. Her stumble was in such a comical manner that it caused a passerby to chuckle lightly at the sight. She got up and picked up a small black book which had caused her stumble and subsequent fall. The book was simple in nature, no title on the cover or spine. She flipped open the book and saw that on the inside cover written in her hand was her name.
