Finding My Niche
WHOLEHEARTED LIVING In 2008, at a free Personal Development (PD) seminar, I made my first conscious, determined career decision and commitment, ever. That was that I would work in the PD industry. Up until then, my career path was what I now call a "Lifestyle and next shiny object" path, during which I gained loads of experience and skills across many industries. I think "professionally" I would have been categorised as a "generalist." I ended up with 5 industry specific resumes, which meant that in any job, I could only use limited parts of my skillset and who I was.

Transformation
It’s Labor Day weekend, and I’m feeling a huge change. I have crossed over into the beautiful territory known as Loving Your Own Company. It was a long journey to get here. At times, grueling, painful, and full of panic. For many years I experienced what I call the "Friday afternoon squirrelies" on a weekly basis. They have vanished and so has loneliness. How did I get here? Did I just get over it, or did my appetites change? I know that last year I would have agonized a bit over not having holiday weekend plans. Not this year.

What Is the Meaning of Life?
I remember when people used to ask this question to Siri, and of course Siri would have a programmed, set and limited amount of responses to this particular question. You would ask "Siri, what's the meaning of life?" and Siri would respond with "I don't know, but I think there's an app for that." You would ask Siri again, and she would respond with "42," you would ask a few more times, only to receive the same answers, then have your attention snatched when Siri catches you off guard and gives you a different response that you weren't expecting her to give you, like "Life: a principle or force considered to underlie the distinctive quality of animate beings. I guess that includes me."

Rebirth by the Skies!
Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Geez where do I start? I guess a good place would be why I decided to jump face first into a map (Earth, that's how it looks like from the sky! LOL). If I'm being totally honest, it wasn't something that I always wanted to do or had in mind. Yeah it would come up in conversation with friends, but you know how that goes when you're shooting the sh*t with your people and someone says, "Hey would you jump out of a plane?" Just to look cool, you say random things like "Hell yeah I would no question!" LOL No you wouldn't. Anyway, all my life I've always lived by certain rules and was afraid to take certain risks. I would watch people daily go in and out of the cycle they call their lives. I mean we all wake up, brush our teeth, eat breakfast, rush to work blah blah blah! You know the drill! On top of that, there have been many times when opportunity knocks and we don't answer it in fear of what we don't know! That fear of failing, that fear of not succeeding! That intense fear of someone walking up to you and saying "I told you so"... Argghhh! Makes you just want to punch them in the face don't it?

Tackling Negative Self-Talk
For what it is worth, the concept that I am introducing to you, my lovely reader, was heard through the grapevine (which is mainly comprised of a myriad of books and podcasts—from which I am never 100% certain of where I heard information) and has been thought about ramblingly by yours truly.

How to Lift Your Spirits
Unlike clinical depression which can’t be explained, situational depression is seen as less serious (whilst still being serious), but with a change of factors. It is possible for it to go away over time. Differentiating between the two types can help identify potential treatment options, so if you are requiring help, please seek out a medical professional. In this article, I’ll be suggesting a few things you can do whilst living with mild situational depression, to try to lift your spirits and to make something of your day. So, what can you try to get yourself motivated for things ahead?

Deprogramming the 'Perfect or Nothing' Mentality About Bullet Journaling
Bullet Journaling is a method that has really helped me to regain some control over my days. I think that everyone deserves to give themselves a fair shot at it to see how it can actually help them.

How to Know When You're Doing Too Much
I found myself on my vacation day in bed sick, stuffy nose, achy, and exhausted. This was a bummer for me because in reality I was planning on using my vacation day from the office as a working on my tasks and chores kind of day. I wanted to catch up more on office work, get more forms organized for my blog, write more blog posts, finish some paintings for upcoming art shows, start some new paintings, needed to do laundry, had some research topics to tackle, clean and organize my room… the list was forever long (geez just thinking about all these to-do's makes me exhausted).

You Do Have a Choice
You do have a choice. I chose self-love. It became unbearable to choose anything else. I use ‘choose’ relatively; many things do not feel like choices. I thought I did not have a choice for most of my life, because if I did anything different from what I was supposed to, I risked punishment and potentially losing my family. In simple terms, I grew up in a cult. Literally.
