Prioritizing Rest
Rest. We all need it and most of us feel like we never get enough of it, and we aren’t wrong. As members of a society that equates what we produce to what we are worth, we are always squishing in the rest that we so desperately need. Plus, we treat rest as a reward for our daily adulting, rather than prioritizing it, so that we can sustain adulting for longer periods and with more success.

Why Gratitude Is Something To Practice
"The more grateful I am, the more beauty I see." - Mary Davis A funny thing I've noticed in life is that gratitude doesn't just happen; We often need to consciously practice it to reap all its benefits. You see, gratitude is a choice. We must choose to be grateful for the things we have been given, or else we will not feel satisfied. This is why it's important to set aside some time every day to reflect on what we're grateful for.

Life Lessons from my Dog
For most of my life I have had one or two German Shepherd Dogs as pets and companions. Because of that, I am highly bias to this breed and wouldn’t want any other type as a pet. That being said, I am sure most breeds of dogs will offer the same enjoyable experiences and life lessons that I have had and continue to have.

The Forks in Life
Left or right, black or white, yes or no, a constant twisting, turning of decision making. This life of ever evolving forks is always a page turner and always going to have that mysterious fork that comes out of nowhere. Do we take the dark and twisty or do we take the bright and shiny? Do we always take the one our friends want us to take since that is the way we all must go, or do we take the one less taken for the solitude of the trip? The fork we take sometimes by ourselves can be lonely The fork that we are instinctively led to can be the plot twist that is needed for us to be our best selves.

Stoicism
Stoicism is a school of philosophy of ancient Greek and Rome. Its most well-known representatives are Seneca, Epictetus and Marcus Aurelius. Although the Stoics' teachings are more than 2000 years old and not nearly as popular as they once were, their principles and guidelines are as relevant as ever.

A letter to my 16 year old self
Dear Emma, You are pretty damn special. Even though you feel like no one notices you. Even though you think everyone is judging your every move (literally, social anxiety omg). Girl you are radiant af. Don't worry everyone is too focused on themselves just like you. Your not alone. You're a teenager trying to figure out your mind, body, and spirit. You don't need all the answers to live. At 22 I still have many questions and curiosities'. Follow your curiosities'. Your never going to know what your doing or if what your doing is right, but honestly no one knows what they want or what they're doing completely. You have so much time. Remember when you dyed your hair because you thought that would make you normal and make you fit in. Girl you are never going to fit into any box, and I love that about you.
