We need to understand what motivation is and how it can help us on the road to success.Definition of motivation: The totality of motives or motives (conscious or not) that determine someone to perform a certain action or to aim for certain goals.

But there are times when motivation can disappear (at least partially) from a person's life.

We face this reality after a dramatic event or maybe even when we receive too much from our outside and we no longer feel the need to fight to fulfill our desires.

Self-motivation is the key to success - "People who are not able to motivate themselves must be satisfied with mediocrity, no matter how impressive their talents are" - Andrew Carnegie

How did I discover my motivation?

In a moment of introspection and self-analysis, after reading many books and completing many personal development courses, I realized that there is a major difference between me and my mentors, the people who wrote the books, who created the courses, and who are internationally recognized as successful leaders.

A major difference but difficult to identify on time, and yet, unlike me, those people seemed to have an inner engine, a determining force that propels them much further than me. They never seem to be tired, they are full of energy, they do not feel exhausted, they always have new ideas and a smile on their face. And I thought they probably had completely different reasons than I did.

I realized that all my successes now came when I had a strong motivation, without necessarily having the necessary and favorable premises, and that on many other occasions when things were favorable to me nothing remarkable happened because the motivation mine was absent.

And I started to analyze the source of my motivation: I feel motivated when I have to do something that is more complex and challenging than the level I am at, I feel motivated when my work helps others, I feel motivated when I have to do something that requires a lot of creativity, I feel motivated after a failure when I want to prove that I can overcome it and that I can always learn from it and move on and try again, I feel motivated when I really want much to get something.

Motivation is a skill that is learned. To learn this skill you must first know yourself, know exactly where you want to go, know the factors that awaken in you the energy and desire to evolve, joy and enthusiasm. Then it is advisable to set clear guidelines that you should not deviate from, I propose the following:

Make a plan. Decide exactly what you want.

Do not give up! Always finish what you started. Don't let unfinished business gather. You will not know what else to do, where you are and what is the priority.

Don't procrastinate. When you have something to do - do it!

Get out of your comfort zone!

Did you "fall" and get nervous? Super! It uses all the nerves and all the negative energy as a propellant. Get up and prove you can! Don't let yourself be defeated!

Failure is your best teacher. Make friends with him.

Don't make decisions when you're nervous and don't give up when you feel like you can't. Take a 2-day mental break, relax, focus on something else, and then reevaluate the situation.

Aim high! What is your biggest dream?

Don't let fear paralyze you. Dare! What could be worse than not acting on time?

Lack of motivation

It's a good indicator, it shows you that you are at a point in your life where things are not working as they should.

Lack of motivation shows that you have lost hope, that you have allowed your failures to shake your confidence. But remember that all strong people have had failures and disappointments, so let them do their job - make you stronger, let them build your confidence. It is part of human nature to feel disoriented, hopeless, defeated. But it is also part of our nature to stand up, to take on failure, to learn from it, and to move on.
