Unexpected Gift
It was March 10th of the year 2018. The day I met love, the day I felt like life finally had a purpose. For a moment, I knew no trouble and life was innocent. I had just given birth to beauty. His name was Adonis. I named him after me, Adriene. His eyes were perfect & his skin was unmatched. He had a smile that would capture souls one day. I laid in the hospital room with him cuddled on my chest. I would have given anything to make this feeling last indefinitely. It was as if we were in our own little world.

Write It Down, and Watch It Become Real
“Write it down, and watch it become real.” Liv let the mantra repeat in her mind as she cracked open a fresh pack of her favorite travel sized Moleskine notebooks. This would be her eleventh attempt at journaling her desires into existence. Though no two pages of each previous journal were the same, one thing remained consistent: she always chose their color to be as black as a cold winter’s night. It had become almost a superstition.

Treasure In The Stars
The heat hung thick in the air as Sam’s shoes flipped against the ground on her way to the mailbox. The relentless sun had continued for weeks, burning everything from flowers to skin, and adding to her misery. She pulled the red stamped past due notices from the box and made her way back to the dilapidated house. It might have been pretty a while ago but time had worn it down, much like it’s owner Sue Donovan. Sue was nearly 90 now and unable to communicate since stroke had taken her speech and curled her fingers. She’d spent her life as a wealthy spinster but medical bills had taken their toll on her fortunes. “She still has more than us”, thought Sam as the screen door smacked closed behind her. Dad had left them with nothing but debt and if it wasn’t for Miss Sue, they’d be homeless now.

The Incredible Impact of Iris
Sometimes stories can only be told at the end. And the end is where Iris’s story begins. You don’t always know before the after, which small moments had great impact, and which grand gestures were moot. While Iris’s life had her fair share of inconsequential grand gestures, this is a story of how she fueled extraordinary things through seemingly ordinary actions, in response to a gift of $20,000.

Reflections
Worthless. It's all worthless. The daggers of the reality she now perceives as the utter refuse of her existence settle into her spirit, tearing at her heart as she sweeps her arm across her desk, sending flurries of papers and books sprawling to the floor. What's the use of even trying? Breaking down in sobs, she sinks past the chair and curls over her own knees on the floor, releasing the waves of her despair against the desk in her study.

The Old Man
“It’s so cold out today. I wish I had a better jacket,” Aspen whispers to herself. Every day she walked to work from her tiny apartment in a bad part of town. She had just undergone the worst divorce imaginable. Her ex-husband took everything, leaving her with only the clothes on her back. It wasn’t the greatest of times in her life, but she was just so happy to be away finally. She didn’t have children and owned very little. But she still had one thing she hadn’t in over 4 years. Happiness.

Casual diary of a random citizen
I am a random citizen and this will by all means be a very random diary; a random and not continuously kept diary. The reason behind this diary is to share and hopefully normalize the fact that not everyday has to a day when we get a praise or critique; are happy or sad; feel accomplished or sluggish, and on and on. Since the pandemic, I have found out that this "boring" randomness that follows my days has in fact been a rewarding experience and an awakening towards the realization that not doing much might just mean that you are actually doing a lot, for you. I am indeed a random citizen, my life is no more boring nor more exciting than that of my neighbors In fact, I have been working hard to instill some sort of common sense into myself to appreciate the little things and to take a break after a long chase. With a mentally demanding job, I find that spending time just sitting in the couch for 2 hours is actually a much better thing (for me) than engaging in any activity. So yes, if you decide to follow up on my causal diary, there is a good chance that you might be reading of a wonderful time when I sat on my couch and did nothing or just listened to music or just re-watch some random episode of The Office (as the dedicated fan that I am).

Norman Leaves the Normal
Norman Bottle was a normal man. He led a normal life, had a normal job, and ate normal food. He was once part of his father’s Bottling company. Bottle’s and More, was his dads’ pride and joy, that was until the market crash of 2008. All the shareholders and investors withdrew, and the company crashed. He didn’t like the company anyways; it was to exotic in his eyes.

The Stars and I- Trying to Find Myself
The Beginning I was lost for a long time. Growing up in a turbulent and unstable environment can do that to a person. Instability, it takes energy away from being able to form as a person and turns your focus towards surviving. Instead of looking for hobbies, interests, and friends, I waited, sometimes impatiently, for the next fight or the next big move. Neither, high school nor college, were the best years of my life because I was too busy being lost. When college came along, all of a sudden, I went from being a lost teenager to an adult struggling to grapple through new expectations while still trying to figure out who I was as a person. That was how I ended up spending two torturous years pursuing a career I did not like and closing myself up completely to the outside world, then finally reaching my bottom and seeking out help.

The Balance of life
Who are you? What is your purpose in life? What in the world are you doing here and why do you do the things that you do? The answer: Who the heck knows? Chances are most people go through majority of their life asking these same questions over and over again. Some people turn to religion for answers, some people drive themselves crazy wondering, and some people turn to the stars.
