It’s Time to Find out Why Happiness Seems so Elusive for Most of Us
“A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people to whom it is easy to do good, and who are not accustomed to have it done to them; then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one’s neighbor — such is my idea of happiness.” — Leo Tolstoy

A message from dusk and dawn
From my early childhood, I love morning and evening time. Especially the rise of the sun in the spring season. Soul-refreshing cool breeze, the color-changing game of the sun at a leisurely pace, the rising of the sun far behind the buildings, slowly spreading of sun rays all over the sky, has always been the love of my life. This everyday process is always thrilling for me.

My Dear Inspired Life
The year 1999. Evening 7:30 pm at a hospital on a weekday. The nurse asked me, "Show me your hip for the injection.", as I was rolling up my sleeves to show my upper arm to take the injection. She said, "No, this injection needs to be given to the hip area, as it would be a terrible pain if I gave it to the arm.". She gave the hip injection. After a few minutes, I got up and started walking. As I approached the hospital exit, I felt drowsy, threw up, and almost fainted. My friend who had accompanied me caught hold of me and took me back to the hospital bed. I lay down there until the nurse gave me an orange drink to make me feel better. I had a high-temperature fever, was weak, and went to the hospital to get treated for the same.

Love at First Sight is Real
As a young girl, I knew I was a bit different. I always marched to the beat of my own drum. Deep down, I had a feeling that I had been here before. Childhood adventures bored me. Parents talking to me like I was a baby infuriated me. I felt like I knew it all and couldn't wait to grow up. Maybe I had lived before and this lifetime was just a nanosecond in an ongoing adventure? There was a wisdom that I had and I knew that it came from somewhere unexplained, another realm, a different time, possibly in another galaxy. I was a spiritual being from a very young age and I understood concepts that even adults couldn't comprehend.

Remarkably Me
When I was around twelve years old my mom and I found an early 2000’s era PC at a garage sale. It was bulky in shape and almost too heavy to carry in my feeble arms as I hauled it back to the car. I was so proud I bought my first computer all by myself for only a dollar! It was the ugliest dark green I had ever seen, but I was awestruck. It had no internet capabilities and all I could do was type on Notepad. That didn’t bother me, I was absolutely giddy with excitement to have something I could type my stories onto. I felt like an official author with my very own computer. I loved it so much I gave her a name: Bubbles. Bubbles was a hard working computer. I typed the days away and played Minesweeper for hours on end, until one day she wouldn’t turn on again and crashed for good.

Fiskars Folk
2021. Inch by inch, I’m stripping my clothes. I’m baring all these raw, dangling parts clipped with my pair of Fiskars. Sliced fibers crudely stick out from the ends of the continuous thread I’m making. Before I reach the end of one side, I pivot to keep going and head in the opposite direction. The pieces that once wrapped around my body are now flattening and getting eaten by my machine. My hands are the drivers, steering back and forth until nothing is left but a large ball of giant thread. And it’s beautiful—all these colorful balls of cloth, ready to be woven into abstracted wall art. Crimson, vermillion, mustard yellow, disco gold, cobalt blue, kelly green, creamy white. Luscious tones unwind and drop to the floor as I loop, twist, pull, and thread the fiber into my latest creation. I weave directly on the wall using the nails I’ve pounded into triangular and circular contours to hold tension. Hours flash by in a blitz. Each day I get to create, time scurries along like a scattering lizard chased by the sound of crunching footsteps. When I finish, I view an array of floating shapes, playfully tumbling across the surface, with bits of fabric jutting intermittently across each form, a button here, a tag there. Contrasting textures and colors become blocks of meditation for my eyes. Perpetual delight.

Holiday Time Checkin'
At the beginning of every year, it seems we all choose to make resolutions. Some of us instead of making full-blown resolutions, choose to make one-word 'resolutions.' This was the case with me. See my story written here. What was my word? My word was 'Love.'

The Light that Shineth in the Darkness
Imagine lighting a candle in a dark cave. You have enough light to see, but not very clearly. You are walking through the cave with many people, some known and many unknown to you. You say to those known to you, family and friends, “It is so dark in here.” Then they say to you, “It is not dark in here, it is bright.” You are so confused; how could they not perceive the darkness as it surrounds us?
