A Day in the Life of a Small Town Girl
Life in a small town isn’t easy. Everybody knows everybody; rumors spread like wildfire. Life can get so boring sometimes. My normal day consists of homeschooling my two older children, whilst taking care of my other two smaller children, and performing my daily housewife duties. My day can get pretty tedious at times, but I manage.

If Misty Can Defy Odds and Break Barriers, so can you.
I was 14 years old when I started doing ballet. I was scared that I had started ‘late’, as most of the girls had probably danced before they could walk. So that was negative, number one. I was the only brown girl in the class of slim white girls. I experienced a majority of my teenage years in a small town of Newfoundland, Canada, just to give a little bit of context.

Life Offers
One of my favorite quotes is “Life is what you make it.” No matter who you are, where you live, how rich or poor, you are the director of your life. So many debate the concept “Life is ninety percent of what happens to you, and ten percent of how you respond to it.” Others choose to go with “Life is ten percent of what happens to you and ninety percent of how you respond to it.” The beauty about life is choice and having the option to believe in which ever one fits your perception. As for me, I will go with the reversal. Here is why.

Motivation is a lie.
I, like many of you out there, would describe myself as an optimist but with a healthy dose of realism sprinkled in there for good measure. I always try and focus on the positives of any situation and always try and see a way out of whatever problem I may be going through. I am a restless person too, and as much as I can give in to laziness every now and then, I much prefer to keep busy and do things that get me closer to my ultimate goals. I also have very clear goals on what I want to achieve in life and am desperate to be successful for a variety of reasons.

Black Girl Magic
Who is my Black in Business Inspiration? When I first thought about this prompt, there were numerous people who came to mind. Actors, actresses, athletes, sports moguls, businessmen, and women…you name them, and I thought of them. But in really thinking about people who have inspired me, it’s not a traditional celebrity. Rather, it is someone far closer to home. While I have not had the pleasure of meeting this person face-to-face, I have followed her and interacted with her via social media and virtual communication for approximately 2 years. At every turn, this beautiful Black Woman has inspired me with her business acumen, generosity of spirit, digital entrepreneurship, and her unmatched ability to monetize opportunities.

Ax Facts, Findings, and Fittings
Pack an ax, you won’t regret it. An ax is one of the most versatile tools of which humankind has ever conceived. At least one ax should be present at every social occasion. Much like a pearl inlayed lighter or an elegant silver card case, your ax may remain hidden from public appreciation, but rest assured, should the moment present itself for brandishing your ax, the admiring gaze of all who are present will be upon you.

Do not open until March 12th
The day the large brown envelope arrived I had other ideas; hope. I had been hoping for a surprise financial windfall, a cheque maybe. I wasn’t expecting any cheque in particular, but I certainly needed money. A random surprise cheque is just what I need to get out of this hole. A big one. Stories about manifesting holidays, jobs, money and even love were becoming more common in the new quantum era. Why not me?

Grateful
“Why not take a chance, if I don’t, I will never know”. Theresa Mitchell, a 30-something was thinking of ways how she could get rich or find temporary happiness. It was just a few weeks before she decided to play the lottery, with the jackpot being $600 million. Theresa was the kind of person to take her chances, just 10 years before she played a random scratch-off winning $300. Melancholy about her life, she yearned for more, “have your ever worked so hard that it didn’t even make a dent”? asking her co-workers…shrugs was their response. “I know exactly what you’re talking about Theresa” her co-worker Maria responded. “Like you’re hitting a brick wall to no avail”, “exactly” Theresa said.

Turning Pages to a Dream
Turning Pages to a Dream Hanzila excitedly sat up in bed and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. Today was about to be one of the most pivotal moments in her life. Immediately Hanzila walked over to her small desk, eagerly thrusting her black notebook open and jotted down the date in the upper-righthand corner, "August 6th, 2010." She writes, "Dear Diary... Today is the day that I make my escape to a happier life!"
