The Way Through
They’re overused cliches at this point, the ones like “simple is best,” and “less is more.” But despite their cliche’d status and overuse, I still find these sorts of principles to be absolutely true for my life. However, I’ve repeatedly made a mistake when it comes to figuring out how to apply such a framework to my own organizational philosophy.

SNEAK PEEK
Sneak reading into my upcoming book, Balanced In Beauty (2021) “Yes I've been damaged. Yes I've been broken. But I'm putting myself back together piece by piece. I refuse to be unwhole. My plan is never over. There will be mistakes and obstacles, but we have the power for us to overcome anything. That's what gets me through. Knowing that there is a connection to to my inner self in my life. “ ......

Declutter your Mind
I am a pantser, procrastinator, and night owl who longs to be a planner, producer, and early bird. The research says that if I declutter my house and organize my days, I will become more productive and proficient. I read countless books, blogs, and articles about organization and productivity, and I try everything, but nothing seems to work for me. I remain distracted, absentminded, and immersed in too many projects.

The Most Important Step
Brandon Sanderson is one of the highest regarded fantasy writers currently working, with well-known works including the Mistborn Trilogy and The Stormlight Archives. The Stormlight Archives is Sanderson’s grand fantasy epic and will be what we focus on today. Namely, a quote from the story. Please note that there are mild spoilers for Oathbringer, the third book of the Archives.

Best Organization Tips
I love having things organized all the time. Though I know that it is not that easy for everyone. If you are not a naturally organized person, you might think that you don't need things to be organized, you work best when it's not. However, if you just try it you will be surprised how much easier it will make your life. And it doesn't have to cost you a lot of money either.

Spring Forward with Vocal
Trying to totally organise my life this spring would be like trying to stop water gushing down Niagara Falls. Don’t get me wrong; I’m not a hugely disorganised person, but I am messy, I enjoy having multiple projects on the go, and I have a short attention span.

Breaking Cycles of Disorder
We all know by now how chaotic life can be at times. Some days everything goes our way and we are full of confidence, while other days we feel like absolute failures. As someone who has dealt with anxiety since childhood, I find that disorder on the outside often causes the same on the inside. When my house is a mess, for instance, I tend to feel overwhelmed. It isn't just these physical messes that cause such tension, though. When my life feels out of order because I've taken on too much or I'm in an environment that is overstimulating, I feel out of control and the stress levels steadily rise. I begin to look at each problem or project as something bigger than I can handle. Even worse, the growing stress causes my mood to shift and I often take it out on those closest to me without even realizing it. My five year old tells me I get "cranky," and she's right. The mess on the outside becomes one on the inside, causing a cycle of disorder, chaos, and strife. So how do I break this cycle?

Just Call Me Energizer Bunny
Daylight Savings Time is stupid. I don’t know a single person who likes it, myself included. In the fall, I love the extra hour of sleep, but abhor how the sun sets at 4:30pm and I feel like I’ve been plunged into a never-ending sea of darkness.

The Realistic Promise
The best way to spring forward, or get organised, or move on is to make realistic promises which you can keep. Realistic promises are small goals which you know you can achieve. Because they are small and achievable, it is more likely that they are kept. The more promises are kept, the more confidence someone feels. And suddenly all those small bitesize promises, start to add up to a sizeable impact.

Who Is Going To Stop Us
Ayn Rand, the author of the classic novel, Atlas Shrugged, once said, “The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.” This is my favorite quote and has stuck with me ever since I stumbled on it several years ago. The beauty of this profound bit of wisdom is in its simplicity and can easily be applied to just about every one of us and every ambition or goal. You simply must fit it to you. For me, it applied to both my writing and my sobriety.

Stop dreaming and start doing
I’m pretty sure a lot of us get to the point in our lives where we dream of something bigger and better when it comes to our careers. No matter how cushy a job may seem, do you find yourself wanting to work somewhere better or do something different? You know, the metaphorical greener grass?
