NEW YEAR... NEW RULES?
Now, it is true that smoking and drinking go hand-in-hand but I beg to differ. you would expect someone that was a heavy smoker to be an equally heavy drinker and if they should embark on quitting, to stop the two habits together right? Wrong. Not me, I am a realist. I will quit drinking next year. I am not a terrible drinker. Come to think of it, I have been told that I am a cool drunk. Like I get this aura of coolness wrapped around me like a cloak when I’m drunk so why would I give that up? I don’t have an answer to that yet and when I think of the bravery it took to decide to promise to give up smoking, it is totally worth it to deffer quitting something else.

It cost 0 cents to be Kind. Runner-Up in We Have a Dream Challenge.
We live in a world where we talk about our country's advancement, yet we are only 57 years removed from segregation. We live in a world where while the shackles of slavery have been removed yet there is a need for a Black Lives Matter movement. We live in a world where I as a white woman cannot imagine a mother's agony at having to worry every time her son left the house if he was going to be gunned down or pulled over because of the color of his skin. We live in a world where I as a high functioning autistic person am frightened and saddened by deaths like that of Elijah McClain. In a world that is often so somber, so muddied grey by despair and violence where do you find inspiration? In my opinion kindness can be a doorway to change. It can help take a person from a place of inaction to action and vice versa. Kindness isn't focused on one agenda more than another because it is a human agenda. One random word of kindness from a complete stranger during my teenage years inspired me not to kill myself. It was the inspiration that someone who didn't know me at all could be kind without feeling obligated to do so or making me feel lesser than began my dream of living a kind life.

New you or True You
Every new year that comes and goes is the beginning of a “new you.” The version of yourself that one aspires to be and grants themselves. The version of themselves that everyone gets excited for. The version that individuals see for themselves and hope to show off to everyone else I find. Resolutions I find tend to be ones that are difficult for someone to fully follow through with, and the majority of the time these resolutions are left behind after a month or two. I myself have not followed a resolution for more than that timeline and I find it's because either they are difficult to maintain; i lose motivation; or it's something that maybe I didn’t truly want. I have tried, but they just never come to fruition.

Get to Sleep 2022
Debt-free Every year on New Year we wake up and give ourselves new goals. But realistically how achievable are these goals? This year I woke up and said to myself "I will be debt-free by the end of this year. That's all very well but is it achievable? Possibly if I worked three jobs every day and had no life for a whole year! We're talking $24,500 worth of debt here which in comparison to some people is not a lot. But for a single person with one main income, it's a struggle.

T. Hill Resolution
T. Hill Resolution Calvin Klein runways with mellow catwalk tunes in Italy, would indeed be the best New Year’s Resolution ever. Seriously, my horizons would be expanded if I could quietly sail down Holland’s Rhine rivers, or take a tour of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Of course this is a girls dream, but in reality a different type of New Year’s resolution is needed. This year for my New Year’s resolution, I have decided to get more sleep and relaxation. I have decided to take a break from working and stay home more. I have decided to feel the paint on the wall, polish all the wood fixtures and feather dust the picture frames and lampshades. I have decided to eat real breakfast food at the dinette table and have a silent cup of coffee or mild joe. I have decided to explore and enjoy my wonderful apartment space and read more books. To look out the window and catch snow flurries and sunshine. To make more trips to my local supermarkets, instead of eating chinese takeout. Perhaps I could plant pink tulips, and dark purple flowers with lavender lips in the spring. Or maybe catch a few day parties and drink hot cocoa for a few hours this winter. I mean Columbian hot cocoa with whip cream and butter finger pieces on top and crumb cakes on a porcelain plate. Perhaps I might meet a hot guy who rocks so many jewelry pieces and iced out bling that he is too irresistible for all of the girls around him. I imagine that if I meet this guy, we could go shopping on Saturday mornings and have one designated time during the week for dinner dates. Perhaps we could discuss music art and love, and make out on the couch from time to time. I mean I imagine he would be so gorgeous and brown with the deepest hair waves ever. Perhaps he would buy me a beautiful white Persian cat for the window sill that has snotty behavior and refuses to eat cheap cat food. Or perhaps he would buy me a barking Chihuahua for the living room with a circular poodle pillow, that wiggles when he bites. Perhaps during the day we may indulge in Netflix movies that are filled with suspense. This is all just a fantasy for now.

A Gateway Of Lemons
There was a whole bag of lemons to squeeze in the kitchen. Big yellow ones with pointy ends and thick skin. I think they were Lisbons, because they were certainly not Meyers. Their rind was hearty and fragrant and I didn’t know what to do with them. It’s a funny fruit in that you don’t ever really need them in kilogram quantities. One or two here and there for a drink or a recipe will suffice, but on this day I had kilos. The ones at the bottom of the bag started to grow a furry layer of blue-green fuzz during their time in ambient temperature. Penicillium mold of some kind. These were hard-earned lemons from a tree in my cousin’s back yard. He shared them with me as any good cousin would do when they’ve stumbled into a trove of fruit. It might have been currency a few hundred years ago in some barren, forlorn land. I couldn’t let these go to waste, so I woke up nice and early before the sun came up and brewed a strong batch of coffee. I started slicing them in half on a cutting board in the kitchen while my wife slept in the bedroom. I tried to be quiet, and figured that if I could just pull a few out at a time and get them in half, I could squeeze them with my hands and squish their insides with a lobed wooden mandrel that I found in the top drawer. That’s where we keep wierd kitchen utensils. Once I got the juice into a bowl, I would divvy the bowl into freezer bags and have lemon juice for the rest of my life and possibly part of my future kid’s lives.

FINANCIAL STABILITY.
Is financial stability real? Or is it just a statement that people say to make them feel contented with what they have? How would one know if they have attained financial stability? Is there a known amount of wealth acquired that specifies that one has attained financial stability?

Life improvements that my dad taught me
This one is called the best life lesson. My father taught me well. We all have heroes in our lives. Yours might be could be sports heroes. It could be your family member. Sometimes I hero was my grandmother. Sometimes it's people. You don't know. It could be Elon Musk and Richard Branson. It could be an Oprah Winfrey or Michelle Obama. It could be. Tim Cook or Steve Jobs, or a Rembrandt or a Monet.

New Year’s Goals — 7 Ways To Make 2022 Better Than 2021
Here are my top 7 ways to make 2022 better than 2021. 1: Write down your goals One of the most effective ways to achieve your goals is to write them down. I’m not talking about a simple list of resolutions you make and then forget. I’m talking about a process called goal setting. The goal-setting theory suggests that if you write down your goals and plan out how you’ll reach them, you’re more likely to accomplish them than if you don’t. This is because writing down your goals makes them more tangible, which makes it easier to visualize the steps required to reach them. Writing gives your goals greater significance, which can motivate you more than just thinking about them — especially if they’re big ones. As a result, writing down goals puts you on a path toward achieving them.
