The Art of Moving Faster by Slowing Down
The heaviness was suffocating. All around a fog swirled with wisps of fear, panic, uncertainty that were slowly becoming heavier and thicker. One of my unspoken fears was being trapped in a small space; although the visualization of this terror had always centered around being stuck in a car after an accident, or inside a broken elevator, or being buried alive under an avalanche.

Making Changes
Living through the Covid nightmare is affecting everyone. Lives have been turned upside down. Many people have suffered heavy financial losses while others have lost loved ones. I don’t know anyone who hasn’t been affected by COVID. I am no exception to this statement. Lately I’ve been thinking about the person I used to be.

Living with PCOS
Four letters changed my life forever. PCOS: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. It is a simple diagnosis really, the symptoms are what get you. My symptoms include but are not limited to ; infertility(For now), cysts on the ovaries that can rupture at any time causing a longer, more painful period, testosterone levels so high that I am able to grow facial hair at the same rate as my brother, extreme weight gain (imagine going from a size S to a size XL in what feels like overnight), borderline diabetes, and last but not least excessive mood swings.

New Year's Intention
Wow! What a year 2021 was, right? We all know that 2021 was definitely a challenge for almost all of us. For myself, the intention word I gave myself for the year (instead of New Year's resolutions) was Love. I need to begin here with my word Love in order to bring in this year’s word, consistency.

The All Year Struggle
A struggle can be described as an ongoing longtime attempt to achieve something. All year, I was trying to achieve something. As I was trying to reach my goal, I realized I needed to achieve even more. So, my goal was to finish my studies. I was working toward a certificate of completion.

My first Half-Marathon
In my life, I have done many things which resulted in friends and family questioning my decisions. However, none more so than what I just accomplished. A half marathon, 13.1 miles, 21.0975 KM, 69217.51969 feet, or a long way to run for most everyone. Myself included. Let’s skip over the 12-week train up which consisted of a ton of running, Epsom salt baths, wireless headphones, smartwatch choices, and so many other things. Let’s get right to race day.

10 Simple Ways to Build Better Habits
There is a misconception that it takes 21 days to form a habit. In reality, forming a habit depends on the individual and the changes that one wishes to make. The misconception stems from a plastic surgeon called Dr. Maxwell Maltz.

How to Influence Life With Your Thoughts
People get involved in a variety of situations in life that get described as negative or positive. By this method of designation, our minds separate the evil and the good, our distaste and desire, all so that our subconscious can send the appropriate signals when finding ourselves in a situation with any one of them.

What's in a Word?
Up to now, I have never chosen a “Word of the Year” for myself to strive to embody. I’ve seen all the posts, the encouraging blogs, the social media posts. All of it. But, unfortunately for me, I am a bit of a perfectionist. I’d spend ages trying to find the perfect word, getting overwhelmed with the plethora of choices, having goals and losing focus by not making a plan before finally giving up before the year and my journey have even started.

A Goal, A Pursuit
I’m not good with long term goals like New Year’s Resolutions. I have a habit of forgetting that I’ve ever set a goal in the first place, and whatever ‘self-improvement’ I’d have sought just isn’t given time. The more details and mile markers I set up, the less I care for the goal itself. Everytime I fail to meet those check-ins, it stings just a bit more. Thus, I don’t set resolutions, not usually.
