What’s your name and where are you from? ———- My name is Mashari Barnes professionally known as ASL MASH and I’m from the south side of Chicago. I grew up on the lowend part which is Bronzeville and I’ve been living over there since I was little. But I eventually had to move and I’ve been moving ever since but within illinois. Why do you love what you do? ———- Because music makes me happy, anytime I am down or in any type of mood I make or listen to music which brightens my day, also I have people messaging me saying they love my music and it inspires them, so that makes me love music even more because I see that my talent was heard by someone else and they are inspired by it. What makes you different? ———- I couldn’t point out anything that makes me different. Once I get a beat or produce one, I start to get creative with lyrics and how I sound. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? ———- I see myself being one of the biggest versatile musical artists out, I also see me helping my old street out with financing. My goal is to just be as successful as possible, and I want to keep pushing even when I feel like I’m not getting anywhere but also My goal for 2023 is to make some progress in my music career, I’ve been into music my whole life but I really started to take it serious early 2021. I’ve always been told that I wasn’t going going to exceed in the music industry, but I use that as motivation to keep me going. My circle has gotten smaller, I can settle being alone, even though it’s hard sometimes when you think you need someone by your side when you are going through
