VVS MADÈ

Madè Fajar, also known as VVS Madè, was born on October 11, 2002, in a village called Mas, Ubud, on the island of Bali. His name, Vvs Madè, originated from his real name based on the culture of the second-born child, and the VVS stands for him, shining like a diamond within his music and fashion. Vvs Madè is also known as a “Madè for the people” because he always wanted to accomplish his long-time dream of putting Bali on the map and saving Bali's economy by giving his people jobs/opportunities with his success.

Vvs Madè music represents his path in life and his experiences from his tribe and tribulation growing up in a different environment in America. Vvs Madè moved to America with his mother in 2013, and since his mother was always working, he didn't have the time to teach Madè English. He quickly learned the English language from his roommate in Stamford, CT, named Angel, who expanded his horizon of rap culture/music. He then picked up the new slang and fashion of rap culture and said, “Rap culture is similar to the island culture because rap music and Bali instruments have such rich and deepest emotions within their sounds.” However, Vvs Madè grew up listening to Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg back on the island after his big brother introduced him to Hip Hop for the first time in 2012. From that point, Madè started to fall in love with rap and the culture. He stays motivated by listening to Youngboy Never Broke Again, who has been his inspiration and favorite rapper since 2016. Madè exclaims that all of his music was the truth, nothing but the truth, “Out of respect for the culture and my island culture that I was raised in always to mind my business and tell the truth nothing but the truth, my granny taught me that.”

Vvs Madè’s “Sorry” track has the deepest meaning and message behind it. The theme portrayed the events that happened in his life as an artist and that people hated him for being a

foreigner. The story shows that he was sincerely sorry for stabbing one of his close friends from high school in the hands deeply on Vvs Madè's driveway. His friend shed blood on the ground after he put his hand on Madè's face trying to kill him at his property when he came uninvited due to an altercation about Vvss Madè throwing a memorial ceremony for the second anniversary of his best friend's death named Kris in 2021. “I just hope that fucking footage gets leaked for defending my damn self after those two big ass goons tryna kill me in front of my garage,” Vvs Madè quotes. 30 mins after the stabbing, the word about the incident with Madè spread horrendously, and the two goons flip the script on Vvs Madè, making him a town villain in hopes of trashing his image with their lies; lies that Vvs Madè took to heart. “I did give my all to put Torrington on the map by providing most people out here with food and money when I don’t have anything. But people still hate me because I’m the chosen one that has to provide for em, not them. I even got most of these girls who are cheating on their men or letting their man cheats on em by posting it on TikTok to hate on me because I stopped hanging with their stupid ass and stopped putting Torrington on the map after they the one who did me wrongs first,” he states about the feelings of his trashed image. Since then, Madè has been trying to honor Kris's family's wish with peace for wanting to throw the ceremony, which now has to be canceled.

Vvs Madè could have a massive impact on rap culture in the next five years because his lyrics/message have lots of meaning, wisdom, pain, anger, and truth trough out the music he presents. His music and image relate to young emigrants by showing his efforts to provide for his people back home since he hasn't seen them in decades. This is one of the main reasons Vvs Madè lyrics/truth music is different and unique as an artist; he raps mainly about the lifestyle he has experienced since a young age and how to overcome diversity. He shows that anybody could be different and be who they are without others telling them negativity about themself or their

peers, “Stay true to yourself and don't trust anybody with any rumors until you hear their story from both sides.”; a phrase he lives by. With his sounds and fashion, in 3 years, we believe that Vvs Madè has the potential to be known worldwide. He states, “If you put your all and soul into it, you can be powerful,” a quote he lives by while listening to YoungBoy Never Broke Again.

At the end of the day, Vvs Madè just wants to inspire people that anyone can profit from their pain and anger. He's becoming one of the most inspirational, impactful, and genuine artists we see today. After interviewing Vvs Madè, I’m excited to see what he has stored for the future of his career. Vvs Madè plans on releasing one of his self-proclaimed best masterpieces later this year. It includes songs such as “Freedom,” “Base,” and “Deep end,” along with self-edited music videos. In his new music, he talks about his opportunity of having the chance to live in America and chase the music/fashion career that he has dreamed of since middle school. The music video will follow the documentary that Vvs Madè made that has already been released on youtube (Madé) and Instagram (@VvsMad3). If you want to feel something real, listen to Vvs Madè and get inspired to find yourself.
