Meet ASL MASH

What’s your name and where are you from? ———- My name is Mashari Barnes professionally known as ASL MASH and I’m from the south side of Chicago. I grew up on the lowend part which is Bronzeville and I’ve been living over there since I was little. But I eventually had to move and I’ve been moving ever since but within illinois. Why do you love what you do? ———- Because music makes me happy, anytime I am down or in any type of mood I make or listen to music which brightens my day, also I have people messaging me saying they love my music and it inspires them, so that makes me love music even more because I see that my talent was heard by someone else and they are inspired by it. What makes you different? ———- I couldn’t point out anything that makes me different. Once I get a beat or produce one, I start to get creative with lyrics and how I sound. The key is making what you think sounds good, not off of someone else’s preference if you make something off someone’s preference it may not sound good to you at the end and who doesn’t want to listen to their own music? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? ———- I see myself being one of the biggest versatile musical artists out, I also see me helping my old street out with financing. My goal is to just be as successful as possible, and I want to keep pushing even when I feel like I’m not getting anywhere but also My goal for 2023 is to make some progress in my music career, I’ve been into music my whole life but I really started to take it serious early 2021. I’ve always been told that I wasn’t going going to exceed in the music industry, but I use that as motivation to keep me going. My circle has gotten smaller, I can settle being alone, even though it’s hard sometimes when you think you need someone by your side when you are going through

Tough times, I don’t have anyone that’s been there since day one other than my little sister, and I am comfortable with that, but I can step away from what is comfortable because when you are comfortable you won’t get anywhere in life, so I would like to meet new people and create new relationships. What do you want to accomplish in life? ——— I want to succeed at getting my music heard by the right crowd and being consistent with it, also I want to use my music career to help start my own business it would be very beneficial to me and my family. My goal now is to build enough traction on the internet so I can build my presence. What do you bring to your industry? ———- I bring My creativity and smart thinking, also me being young I have a lot of different ideas many others wouldn’t think of. Also I bring my singing and rapping ability, which can make me versatile at making any type of music I want What do you want to be remembered by? ———- I want to be remembered as an inspiring black man who has a successful music career and business, also being a helpful person, like giving back to the community. And helping the poor, also I want my city to love me, I want a lot of support in my journey to becoming the best artist of this generation. I know it’s hard but I’ll get there
