Meet Dankio

What’s your name and where are you from?

Funny story, Over ten years ago I made a facebook page and changed my last name to Dank so my family couldn’t find me, I was young I was smoking pot and I didn’t want to get caught ! Going by the name Dankio on stage, as unique as it sounds I am the one and only Dankio. Born in Reading, PA raised in Allentown, Pa. Overall I’m repping Pennsylvania till the day I die !

Why do you love what you do?

I love everything that has to do with music, the theory, the history, the creative opportunities on literally just being able to be yourself, there’s really no wrong answer to it and it feels good to make a song that people learn to love especially when the process comes to me naturally.

What makes you different?

I feel like that’s what makes me different when I hop in the booth I’m not a try hard , or someone that follows trending sounds. I like to create at my own terms not caring what’s popping in the moment, what I feel in the moment is what steers my creativity.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

After doing a handful of shows, music videos, and countless recordings in the studio I guess in the next 5 years I just hope to keep going and never lose interest , as I want my revenue to skyrocket I’ll just keep focus on my branding and making sales through merchandise, music, and pop ups ! In the 3 years of me creating music I’ve learned so much and I know I have so much more to learn. I’ll always continue to keep up with the music industry, and learning new ways to make the most out of my career independently or not.

What do you want to accomplish in life?

In hopes to makes it big in life I’d much rather just be that guy that’s always been real to himself and his fans , it’s not always whose the best but who can last the longest? who can touch the most lives? or who can stand tall and always do the right thing when worst comes to worse? Whats better than actually being able to be yourself and not have to fake anything ? I just want to be comfortable!

What do you bring to your industry?

And that takes me to what I bring to the industry, I’ll always be real, I’ll always be me! As I said before there’s no wrong answer to making music, but at some point people have to realize they all sound the same and are telling the same story in a different voice.. I’m definitely staying away from that, i have my own story to tell, and it doesn’t involve “spinning the block on an op or a cop” im aiming toward peace, health, wealth and just overall living a good life! I know my worth, my potential, and I know the quality of my content is always going to get better, my writing is getting better and I take constructive criticism quite well . I have no worries for what the future brings as I always manifest positivity !

What do you want to be remembered by?

I hope that’s enough to be remembered by, but I know the music will stick as well ! My first project I dropped ‘Dank and Lemonade’ has 13 tracks featuring three great artist D.capri, Louis Dee, and Marley Mont, all have different styles that bring out a different me, I will aways remember how much fun I had making that project. Working with other artist and publishing more work will definitely leave a legacy but most importantly the way I treat others with respect is where I’ll be remembered most, people will always forget what you say , but they will never forget how you made them feel!
