What is magic?
The power of apparently influencing the course of events by using mysterious or supernatural forces
That is the definition of magic. My definition is the ability to set intentions for myself, work with mother earth, and discover the power of who I am within myself. I know many people will say, "wait do you worship Satan and cast curses on people?" To answer this question, some people will and are following Satan and have cast curses on others, but I do not. I was a Christian witch since I did not know how to classify the kind of witchcraft I wanted to practice.
I started to work on some shadow work and had a feeling that Hecate was calling to me. I looked into how to work with her and found out that she works a lot with people who do a lot of Shadow work. Hecate is my main goddess, but I am also a devotee of Persephone, the Goddess of the underworld. The other deities I follow as protectors are Anubis, Loki, and Hades. I do not follow any specific male deities since I have a hard time with male deities due to personal issues. Though Anubis, Loki, and Hades are slowly working with me and making sure I am comfortable with the
"I am Pagan.
I acknowledge that the divine is everywhere in the energy of life. I am animistic. I sense the life force in the oak tree on the hill, in the herbs in the garden, in the birds singing at my window, in the boulders on the hill, in myself, and yes, even in "things" such as my car and computer. I understand that everything has its physical and non-physical aspects. The physical and spiritual are deeply intertwined not separated and one is not better than the other."
Am I still religious? I am more spiritual than religious I do not go to church. I grew up as a Morman, but after years of people saying one thing and doing the opposite I left the church. I do have a belief in the family values that I grew up learning. I still believe in God, but I believe in the male and female energy of the earth. I believe that men and women should work together and not have one person rule over the other.
Am I against organized religions? No, I do not want to be part of organized religion, but I will not say anything bad about other religions. My parents are still members of the church, and the three of us respect each other's religious beliefs. The only issue I have with organized religion is that sometimes people in those religions tend to judge those who are not members or have different life choices.
Does my whole family know? No, just my parents and my brother. This is because I do not know what my other family members will say if they find out since they know that I grew up Mormon. One of my family members I do not want to tell since they like to gossip, try to shock people, and like to change her beliefs and ideas to fit other people.
I have a question for you do you think that I am right in not telling my whole family?
Also, would you tell family members you know will look at it like it is a fun game or there is judgment?
Magic is a gift for those who look at the world not in black and white but in color. Those who dance to unique music that only they hear, the ones who do not fit inside a box, and those who want to be connected to the earth.
