Feeling Stuck In Your Life? Here's 3 Things You Can Do
to finally live the way you want
I know the feeling.
Waking up to the question, "What will I do today?"
The feeling of being stuck in the world without any plans.
As a housewife, I 've been there, done that.
With no plans, or you do have plans, but no motivation.
A Little Backstory
Once upon a time, I worked in a hospital that was about 30 to 40 minutes away from my home.
So I would have to run to catch the van in the morning, and walk home in the afternoon frequently.
My life was active and purposeful.
But then, I got married and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.
I stopped working and spend most of my time at home taking care of my daughter.
Days went by, and I started to feel suffocated.
Not because of having to stay at home and take care of my child.
No, I do love my husband and daughter very much.
But because of the lack of activities I have.
One day, I was motivated for the life ahead, and on another day, I was demotivated and feeling down.
Another reason would be the lack of discipline I have when deciding to pursue a project.
Also, the lack of time management, exercise, healthy diet, no income, etc.
So many things contribute to my "sad" feeling.
Here's some things that I do to get out of this hellhole.
Write It Down
I know.
Time and time again, this advice seems to be repeated on every webpage you've read through.
But it's here for a reason.
And the reason is that it simply works.
Journaling makes you aware of the blessings that God has given you.
I've tried it, and it really does work.
You just need to spend some time writing down what you need to be grateful for.
For me, I write about the top 3 things I'm grateful for.
Aside from that, I write down any unfinished business from the previous day, like writing my will (in case I die earlier than expected).
Although it seems scary, it makes you want to spend the next 24 hours living your best life yet, making every moment count.
After that, I would jot down my to-do list or goals for the day.
So in a nutshell, here's what I'll write:
- 3 things I'm grateful for.
- 1 unfinished but urgent matter.
- 3 to-do lists or goals.
Journaling will make you appreciate life better and let's you plan out the day ahead.
Immerse in God's Word
God's book is there for us to understand.
To get guidance and act upon it.
As a Muslim, reading the Quran warms my heart, and I feel blessed.
Quran not only contains Allah's word but also some guidance on how to navigate life.
You'll be surprised at how reading stories from the people of the past revives your heart.
Sometimes, you may feel that God is talking to you directly.
By reading God's words and acting upon them, you'll feel like getting advice from God himself and make your life more purposeful.
Make Time Your Best Friend
Time can be a blessing or a curse to some people.
For people with many things to do, they will feel as though time flies too fast.
But for those who have nothing to do, they may feel as though time flows too slowly.
But let me tell you this.
Time will always be your blessing.
You can accomplish many great things as long as you use your time wisely.
Some time ago, I read a research on how boredom can be a curse for people.
In that research, most participants are willing to electrocute themselves just to kill time.
This shows how humans hate boredom the most and will try anything to get out of it.
Thus, the reason why some people, including me, scroll on our phones all the time to kill boredom.
But the cure to so-called "phone addiction" and "scrolling" is actually just one thing.
Time spent wisely.
Yup, time can be your best friend as long as you know what to do and how to do it effectively.
By planning ahead, you know just what to do when the time comes.
For example, if you think that you have too much time on hand, try to find a hobby that you enjoy doing and try to plan a project every year or month, like making a tote bag, etc.
Whether it be knitting, sewing, or reading, finding the right hobby for you to do is not only good for your mental health, but will also make you love your "me" time.
You can even monetize your "hobby" at times.
Such as, making a digital cookbook for those who likes to cook, or making DIY handmade bag to sell on Etsy for those who likes to sew.
Conclusion
Now you know the 3 things you can do to "unstuck" your life and finally gain the happiness you wish for.
So start to write it down, read God's book, and spend your time wisely.
Tell me how it goes for you.
