We never have enough money, no matter how much we have. Although it is very difficult for us to recognize, we all have or have had at some point a poor relationship with our money.

You just never know what to do with them or how especially since it seems like it's all about money.

The current state of our finances has a lot to do with the decisions we have made in the past. We have invested, we have not invested, we have compulsively spent or we have saved … it is clear that everything depends and has always depended on our own choices.

Honestly, we don't always make the best choices, and that's why we have money problems. Even so, how can you make a good decision about your finances if you don't understand exactly how they work?

Many would say it's really simple: "You have money - you're happy, you have no money - wait."

This is not a healthy thought and if you do not start doing something about your financial situation you can wait indefinitely because things will never change.

Instead of hating money and how it works, you could try to study it, understand it, and learn to use it to your advantage.

To find out if you also have an unhealthy relationship with money, read the lines below and see if you find yourself in them.

"I'll never be good at money management, so why bother?"

"All my friends seem to be doing well financially. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong."

"As long as I pay my monthly bills, I can use the rest of my money to have fun."

"Life is short. I'll think about retirement when I get older."

"I only feel good when I go out with my friends to spend money"

"My friends don't go out with me unless we go to a place where we can spend money."

"My parents never talked about money, so I won't either."

"If I run out of money, my parents will help me financially."

"Money is the reason there are so many problems in the world."

If you also found yourself in the quotes quoted above, that means that you do not have a very healthy relationship with your money. Well, fortunately, that can change if you take certain things into account. Here are some tricks that will help you develop a healthier relationship with your finances:

  1. Look at money as an instrument. Think that your money is your tool. Just as you use a hammer to drive a nail when you need it, so you must learn to use money when you need something.
  2. Stop believing that money is complicated. As long as you do nothing to better understand how money works, you will not be able to develop a healthy relationship with it. Nowadays you can learn absolutely anything if you put in a little effort, so why not try to study the art of money as well? After all, no one was taught how to use money when they were little, so it's no wonder many people get into trouble because of them! Fortunately, this can change when you choose to find out the secrets of money.
  3. Change your beliefs. From childhood, we take certain behaviors from our parents and the same thing happens in the case of managing finances. Ask yourself what were the things you learned from your parents about money. You will surely realize that you have formed certain beliefs by listening to your parents' conversations about their financial situation. Well, you have the power to change these beliefs and give them up completely if you feel that they do not represent you. You just have to be more discriminating with the help you render toward other people.
  4. Try to understand that your financial situation can change at any time. Everything is temporary when it comes to money. They can go away as quickly as they did and vice versa, and that's why your financial situation can change at any time.
  5. Find someone to guide you. If you think that someone close to you has money management secrets, stop thinking and ask for some advice! Furthermore, it can help you to discuss your financial situation with your loved ones or your partner. Together you can make a financial plan to follow and motivate each other.
  6. Stop comparing yourself to others. You never know how much money a person earns or what their financial situation is. No matter how rich it may seem, no matter how good it may seem, it can only be an appearance that you should not be fooled by.
  7. Enjoy the whole process. Money certainly does not bring happiness, but money helps you to travel, study and pursue your passions. So, in the end, you use the money you earn to be happy, and you should enjoy the whole process.
  8. Stop compulsively spending money. Try to control those thoughts that tell you that your value as a human being is based on the amount of money you are used to spending.
  9. Focus on your goals, not the amount itself. When it comes to your priorities, you should put your goals first. Then you can do a calculation to understand how the money will be able to fulfill your dreams. Some of them will have nothing to do with money, while others will be based strictly on your financial situation. As long as you are realistic you have no reason to be discouraged!

These are the most important tricks you need to put into practice when you want your relationship with money to become healthy. What do you think? Did you know that you can have a healthy relationship with your money?
