Regardless of their color, eggs are indispensable on the Easter table, representing one of the most important symbols of this holiday. As time does not pass in your favor, it is important to plan for some important details related to one of the most beautiful traditional customs: painting eggs. If you want to give up products that contain artificial colors, learn to prepare natural egg paint. It's easier than you think, given that your allies in this process are already in your household.

Natural egg paint: recipes for each color

Nature comes to your aid and offers you organic alternatives to prepare your homemade egg paint. You will be surprised to discover how many options you have at hand and that your imagination can be stimulated more than you imagine in this way.

Preparing eggs for coloring

To make sure the eggs look flawless at the end, degrease them with warm soapy water and liquid soap before boiling. Don't forget to add salt and vinegar to the boiling water, so they will be easier to clean and the paint will stick better to their skin.

You need 12 eggs at room temperature, 12 onions, 3 tablespoons of vinegar, two teaspoons of vegetable oil.

After degreasing the eggs, remove the dried peel from the onion and put 4 and a half cups of water to boil. Add the onion peel and the three tablespoons of vinegar to the bowl.

Once it reaches boiling point, turn down the heat, put a lid on and wait for half an hour. Set the container aside until it reaches room temperature, then place the eggs in the liquid. Bring to a boil over low heat. Once they are ready, keep them in the water for another 10 minutes. Remove the eggs, leave them to cool, then rub them with a little oil to give them a shine.

Blue eggs

You need half a head of red cabbage, 4 cups of water, two tablespoons of vinegar.

Cut the red cabbage head into small pieces, then add it to the boiled water. Don't forget to add a little vinegar. Wait for the liquid to reach room temperature, then remove the cabbage strips from it.

After boiling the eggs, put them in the colored water and leave them in the fridge overnight. In the morning, after noticing that everything is going well, take the eggs out of the natural paint and let them dry. Shine them with vegetable oil.

Gray-blue eggs

You need a cup of frozen currants, a cup of water.

Put water in a bowl, then add the frozen currants and wait for it to reach room temperature. Remove the fruit and put the eggs in their place, then put the container in the fridge and leave everything like that overnight. All you have to do is grease them with a little vegetable oil after the natural egg paint has dried.

Orange eggs

You need two tablespoons of paprika powder, a cup of hot water, two teaspoons of vinegar.

If you want to paint a few eggs in orange, put the paprika powder in a cup of hot water and complete the homemade paint recipe with vinegar. Allow the liquid to cool slightly, then place the already boiled eggs in the container and leave them overnight.

Green eggs

You need spinach leaves, nettles or stevia, 2–3 cups of water (depending on the number of eggs).

Chop the plants, then boil them in water. After the liquid has colored, set the container aside and remove the leaves from it. All you have to do is boil the eggs in the remaining water. If you are not satisfied with the shade obtained, you can leave them in the liquid overnight.

Yellow eggs

You need two cups of water, a tablespoon of turmeric powder.

Heat the water, add the turmeric powder, mixing well. Boil eggs in this liquid, then leave them in it overnight. Use vegetable oil to give them shine. This is the last step in painting the eggs, but you don't have to.

Pink eggs

You need a cup of beet juice, a teaspoon of vinegar.

You will get a light pink egg paint with the help of this natural recipe. Put some eggs in the beet juice and keep them in it overnight. If you want the eggs to be intensely colored, change the recipe as follows.

Bring four cups of water to a boil and when the liquid boils, add a beetroot cut into pieces. Put two tablespoons of vinegar, let the liquid reach room temperature, then remove the pieces of beets and put eggs in the bowl. Let them stay in it overnight. To give them shine, grease them with a little vegetable oil.

Now that you've learned how to make natural egg paint, write down your favorite recipes and try them yourself. They will surely become the basic solutions for painting eggs from now on. You may not get an intense color in all cases, but you can be proud of a basket of eggs in pastel shades.
