Being yourself is not easygoing as people would say. The reality is society dictates what we can do and not do.
It puts limits on most of us by sheer intensity and intimidation. The pressure to preform or fit in has greatly altered the why society acts.
The hardest thing to do is live in denial and not able to express your truth.
Many Philosophers knew this and disputed this one such philosopher was Socrates who quoted “To find yourself, think for yourself. He also stated “Strong minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, weak minds discuss people.”
I believe that we should all bare our truth and be ourselves and not worry about what others think.
Livin your best life is the saying. Your best version of you. The fact that remains is that at the end of the day you have to live with you.
Looking deep within yourself can sometimes be the hardest thing to do let face it were not always looking at a mirror so you can’t see what others perceive of you. Being misunderstood or mislabeled by society is very threatening and we try to act accordingly but know deep down we feel some type of way about it.
It can also lead to two conditions known as “Agoraphobia and Ergophobia”.
Agoraphobia is a type of anxiety disorder in which you fear and avoid places and situations that might cause you panic and make you feel trapped, helpless or embarrassed.
Erophobia or ponophobia is an abnormal and persistent fear of work or fear of finding employment. It is said that it may be a form of social phobia or performance anxiety.
Some may feel the effects of this in the form of panic attacks, breathlessness, sweating, dizziness, a fast heart rate, some might get choking sensations, nausea, and instill fear and dread.
I had many problems with this throughout my experiences in life and I can tell you it held me back from a lot of things I didn’t know why I felt this way. I just wanted to stop. Trust issues and all I just wanted it to go away.
It took me a long time to adjust to my peers and surroundings and I naturally avoided crowds. By that time everyone thinks I’m a weirdo or something but it doesn’t matter I just stay true to myself which caused an social inertia. In psychology and sociology, social inertia is the resistance to change or the endurance of stable relationships in societies or social groups. Social inertia is the opposite of social change. Which brings me to social perception...
Social perception is how people form impressions of and make inferences about other people as sovereign personalities, social perception judgements about other social roles, rules, relationships context or the characteristics of others... One of these is the halo effect... It is said the Halo effect is the tendency for positive perception in one area to positively impressions of a person company, brand or product in one area to positively influence ones opinion or feelings in other areas. It is a type of cognitive bias and is the opposite of the horn effect.
The Horn effect occurs when “ individuals believe that negative traits are connected to each other.” It’s is a phenomenon in which an observers judgments of a person is adversely affected by the presence of an unfavorable aspect of this person.
Throughout history this has played a key major factor in all our Psyches and has remained to the day...
