Cord of Connection to Cosmic Energy
The nine-fold path towards fulfillment
Ever since I was a kid, I used to wake up early and bask in the morning sun. Facing towards the east, the sun shines on my face with my eyes closed which would ignite a colossal feeling of cosmic ecstasy. I did not know then that there is this Oneness that permeates every animate and inanimate things in the universe, an invisible force trapped in every soul of ours which is waiting to be awakened. It was after nearly a decade that I realized I was naively establishing a rapport with this Cosmic Energy and the euphoria I felt was inexplicable. It can be construed as if a modern electronic device is uploading to and downloading from the cloud of the world wide web. With the ebb and flow of time, life unfolds in a myriad of intricate ways to the extent that I relied on an alarm to wake me up only to rush to a college class or workplace. So doomed as I am, I lost connection with the aforementioned ‘Cosmic Energy’. This is a term other scholars or authors refer to as The Higher Self, The All-That-Is or The Oneness In The Universe.
When we were kids, we were positive and hence the universe trusts us to stay connected and as we grow up we become overly so complicated that we begin to pay attention to the polarization in the world and we start inclining towards something we think is better, hot or cold, good friend or bad friend, outstanding or underperforming, trustworthy or deceitful, generous or greedy, … ; the list goes on and on without seeming to ebb away.
The simple reason I am scribbling this piece is that after what seemed like a long time of estrangement from the cord of connection with what I call the Cosmic Energy, I finally found the key to establishing a connection with The Oneness In The Universe through positive thinking, because positive thinking was the one thing I had connection with the cosmic energy as a child.
The nine-fold path
The eight-fold path is a well-known strategy to absolve someone of worldly desires and embark on a journey towards Enlightenment or Nirvana in Buddhist traditions. Even though my version of nine-fold path seems to be inspired by the one in Buddhism, it is a little different.
1, Forgiveness: It is in my instinct to hold grudges for someone who attempted to hurt my feelings and put me in harm’s way. However, this would be a major shenanigan I should battle to stay positive and strengthen the cord of connection to the Cosmic Energy. I had to start every day by releasing negative thoughts about any living creature.
2. Gratitude: Regularly reflect on the things I am grateful for, as it fosters a positive mindset and appreciation for life's blessings.
3, Contentment: Staying happy most of the time would add purpose to life, engaging in situations which uplift and inspire me, and limit exposure to negative thoughts and ideas
4. Simplicity: Many thoughts swirling in the mind and failing to make things simple is a major hurdle in cultivating positive thinking. When this happens, I would usually focus on my breath and let things go as things wish.
5. Lucid Intensions: We all humans roam on the planet for a certain purpose, having crystal-clear intensions and a feeling of determination is important to break through all aspects of hardships in life ranging from solving financial problems to manifestation of dreams.
6. Mindfulness: This is nothing but becoming aware of the present moment. Being mindful every second of every minute of everyday is an essential ingredient in the recipe of the nine-fold path.
7. Generosity: When I studied some Buddhist transcripts, I learned that the practice of attaining selflessness is approached by monks as equally as meditational practice’s. Selfless individuals are not those who gave away all life on earth, but rather have pledged to comprehend the Oneness within us which is waiting for a wake-up call from us to spark off a plethora of goo vibes.
8. Self-belief: Lack of confidence is the holy grail of inability to achieve success. It reminds me of something I read in a medical journal about the heart. The human heart takes mot of the oxygenated blood to itself. Only then is the remaining oxygenated blood distributed to other organs of the body. However, if the heart does not take enough, the other organs won’t get enough oxygen to oxidize glucose because the heart is not strong enough to pump blood to them.
9. Detachment: Sometimes I couldn’t even believe myself when things become what they are because they are supposed to. I never accomplished something when I focused more on the goal than the journey towards the goal. Focus on the things I should do and never expect something and trust the universe to make things unfold. I can have pretty good analogy for this. Disconnect to reconnect. When my computer is running a program in an endless loop that freezes the computer, the best I could do is to reboot it so that it will function better.
The nine-fold path, as I called it, helped me reconnect to the Cosmic Energy with which I lost the cord of connection for long since childhood. I reckon this is something we all have in common. May Positivity and Cosmic Energy Enlighten us all.
